Kurtzman Out?

Rumors always have "sources" -- not like I know any of them. But I had seen the rumor being repeated in a few different social channels, so it felt as if it had been picking up some steam, which is by no means confirmation on my part.
These sources are not always accurate, and need verification. Otherwise, it is just another rumor that can be dismissed without a problem.

Also, in order to have any screenings you need to have some episodes completed and canned. I don't think any have been completed yet? At least I don't think it's been reported as such
There's almost certainly a few episodes done by now, if they are indeed going to meet their vaguely defined "end of year" premiere date. Not many, mind you, two or three at most. Indeed, if there weren't any episodes completed at this point, that is what Kurtzman would be in trouble over and if indeed he were being fired, that would be the reason.

Main filming wise yeah, but post production I would doubt would be complete. If there are any episodes completed, they most likely would have little to no VXF done, placeholder sound effects, etc.

Indeed, that's what I meant. And while it would not be out of place to use such versions on a test audience, it also is less likely for a sci-fi show which would depend a great deal on VFX. Even a "contemplative" one like Picard is said to be.

I know we're more than a month out, but has there been any news regarding Star Trek's presence at Comic Con?

I'm also going to Vegas again this year for the Trek convention but haven't heard anything regarding new news. It seems like other than the trailer they really are keeping a much tighter lip on things than before, or at least it feels that way.

Kurtzman fired from Trek? Not likely, smells of BS. and complete hogwash.
Kurtzman not the show runner on Picard? Probable, Dude's got a lot on his plate.
Kurtzman not the show runner on Discovery? Yup, handed the reigns to someone else at the end of Season 2.

Q2

There’s not a chance in hell that this has been put in front of a test audience yet. They finished principal photography a month ago, for crying out loud.

Do better.

has there been any news regarding Star Trek's presence at Comic Con?
Not that I'm aware of. I'm expecting them to go all out for Picard with a cast photo, premiere date and perhaps even a new trailer. We're probably not going to get much for Disco, since it would only just be beginning filming when Comic Con happens.

There's this ever-increasing, ever-annoying tendency to believe unofficial sources that suggest that they have legitimate sources. I have no problem with someone from Variety stating that they have unnamed sources. They have been around for years and have actual legitimate industry contacts. The problem now is that we have people like the guy from Nerdrotic suggesting that he has legitimate sources telling him rumors. Well who the fuck is this guy? Where does he live? Who are his contacts? What are their backgrounds? Are their identities verifiable? What stories has he broken that make him legitimate? Nothing.

You read that right. Absolutely nothing.

But yet more and more people are believing this shit? Why? Because its confirmation bias. People don't like the way that Star Trek or Star Wars or whatever is going because its not how they want it to be. Therefore, these people like Nerdrotic, Geeks + Gamers, Midnight's Edge and Doomcock are capitalizing on this and posting rumor that [INSERT NAME] has been fired as fact in order to get those disenfranchised fans to get their clicks. Because people are falling for it.

Every.
Fucking.
Time.

You can hate Kurtzman all you want. Or Kathleen Kennedy. Or Brie Larson. Or whoever the latest target is. But do some actual research before you blindly post stuff that has absolutely no basis in reality outside of your own opinions. Just a suggestion.

I'm just tired of the negativity. I admit I got suckered into it for a time but video after video after video was negative, and it was honestly draining. Do I have issues with some franchises right now? Yeah, but it's not the kind of thing I'm going to lose sleep over. I would much rather talk about things like how did Eve from Wall*E become droids on the Enterprise in Discovery rather than who is fired or who isn't, basically more superficial stuff. There's more to life than to be negative all the time. I don't need it and I've been better off because of it.

That's how it works in that world. One moron posts a video that is completely full of shit, get's 100,000 views. Next it will be midnights edge that will refer to "multiple sources" (the previous guy, and his "source) and they will get a couple million views, then it will be some other site, then some other and then some other. Then google will start seeing these multi-million view videos and "news" sites that refer to each other and start pushing the (ir)relevant search results higher and higher. Then the original guy will refer to all the news articles and will say, see told you so. And that's how you get fake news. And those guys know it. And they will get paid for it, since they get more views, more hits which equals more money. So until such time that general populace stops being so gullible (that is to say, never), these morons will win (and make a tidy profit as well)

If I've learned anything from the Midnight's Edge/Nerdorotic types on Youtube, it's I don't believe rumors until there are confirmed sources. Now maybe this might be true, but so much of this stuff has turned into heresay and wishful thinking and I have a hard time believing that that guy who is spearheading like 5 new Star Trek series in the next 5 years is all of a sudden out. I mean if Kurtzman is out, doesn't the dominoes start falling for everything else having to do with Star Trek moving forward? Maybe the Picard series is immune because that's already in production but everything else would take a pretty significant hit.
Midnights Edge? Oh yeah, Kurtzman is getting fired and Patrick Stewart is being cast as The Joker in the next Suicide Squad.
Oh and Michael Dorn is the next Captain Marvel; mark my words.

It's worth remembering that in both of the two seasons of Discovery they were still filming the end of the season at the time the season premiered. I'm not sure if this is typical in Hollywood, but it shows we shouldn't expect that post-production is wrapped up for any but the first batch or two of episodes by the premier date.

Rumor has it Alex Kurtzman is out...

https://boundingintocomics.com/2019...test-shows-for-star-trek-picard-are-horrible/

It's technically a rumor but has some legs this morning and is in line with the Picard test screening news from last week.
Clickbait, designed to pander to those toxic "fans" who wish failure on each new incarnation of [insert franchise here]. They make money off their nonsense via Youtube.

Funny how these never pan out (remember all those times Discovery was cancelled?), but people keep reposting and falling for it.

I stopped after they reported Mount’s tweet that Discobery was cancelled because Mount and Peck were leaving. It was one of those things were I was even convinced and then I felt really foolish for buying into it. That combined with the negativity was like, yeah I’m done.

I hate that they are brought up here so much too. I wouldn’t mind if there was a rule that if it doesn’t come from ligitament sources like Veriety, Startrek.com, Hollywood Reporter or numerous other viable sources, it’s an automatic lock of thread. YouTube is not a source.

With the internet, this is all par for the course. Clickbait full of unfounded rumors, like pornography, will always have a home on the interweb.

The more interesting rumour is the prospect of Discovery season 3 is hanging by a thread. I can't say I'd be too put out by its loss. It's really not a very good show, flashy effects and filling space scenes with as much junk as possible.

I feel like with the excitement of the new series, Discovery really did get flushed down the proverbial toilet. You didn't hear people talking about Stamets and Culber, or Tilly, or anyone of the actual Discovery Crew after the finale. It was all if Pike and Spock was going to get their own series. I do hope Discovery continues, despite my qualms with it.
