Not true...go rewatch TOS S3 - "The Day of the Dove" (Spock specifically states it's not impossible, just that it's rarely been tried because it IS dangerous - however he's talking beaming from the transporter chamber to another point in the ship; NOT the reverse - which should be easier...beaming someone inside the ship INTO the Transporter chamber.
^^^
And even if it IS dangerous for the person involved either way...at least it's a better chance than say, CERTAIN DEATH. ;)

That happened nearly a decade later. The Pike era shows something quite different even for having what look like more advanced ships.

Again, Spock said it was possible and HAD been done in the past, just rarely. Given all the other stuff they've shown Discovery era transporters doing on the Shenzou, Discovery, and hell, the 1701; sorry the capability was/is definitely there.

Then why is no other ship than Discovery shown to be able to do it? and surprising a bridge officer in doing so.

Perhaps what they left unsaid was that jumps to the past are somehow different from jumps to the future. Jumps to the past always jerk you back to the present after a time interval, and jumps to the future take a lot more out of the crystal than jumps to the past. Maybe.

What Michael actually says is:

Meaning, I can take Discovery to the future but I won't be able to come back. It's a one-way trip.

You can directly read that to mean that she could have taken as many trips into the past as she wanted, as long as she only took one into the future.

It still doesn't explain how she created the 7th signal however, unless she found another time crystal.

It's likely that at this point in time nobody knows what will happen to DSC, not even the writers.

I think its likely that the writers already know and have known for months. Filming starts only 60 days from now. Sets have to be constructed, VFX has to be prepared, Costumes need to be designed etc.

930 years vs. a few months back and forth. and until we get next season we won't even know if she even makes the entire journey.

I think they could have different options (just as we do) but I doubt they already know which one they'll adopt. So many things could change, like a main actor quitting the franchise to do something else, like a big-time movie. Do we replace them or do we write the story differently?

Oh man, why did I not know that this feature existed?!

60 days? Do you think something will leak about the stories?

Probably. And it's a vain hope but I still hope it doesn't happen.
CBS will leak it themselves sooner than later. Or someone will post some pics from a location shoot (happened last year with New Eden).
The forum will explode, wild theories will be abound. Ah good times, good times :D

These year-long waits suck.
Must admit I expected them to move much faster with the new shows to minimise subscription loss due to the lack of Star Ttek content.

I find it rather odd, unless its purely to do with plot timing between the shows.
