It's weird, isn't it? Normally, whenever you post a picture, my strain of thoughts is essentially "dang it, that's nice looking! I want one too! Just... where the hell would I put it?":guffaw:

Case in point. Dang that's a great model!
I'm really fighting with myself over weather to get one or not. Sadly, the BSG models are just so damn big. I really appreciate the standard Trek collection - they have the perfect size to put on the desk.

If I'm not carefull with these ones - suddenly my entire apartment is just boxroom for supersized models!:mallory:

I'll say to myself I don't need more than one(!) Battlestar model - just have to decide which one. The original Galactica (best model - not really a fan of the old show though), the nuGalactica (most personal model, but also a bit weird looking), or the Pegasus (probably the best model - but not a Galactica:mad:).

Which one would you all choose if you had to settle on a single Battlestar? :guffaw:

Exactly, the Enterprise is already an older ship. I'm not too bothered about registry numbers at this point in Trek history. Like stardates, they seem somewhat arbitrary, and needn't be the last word on the age of a ship. The apparently "brand new" Discovery NCC-1031 is a good example of this.

The original Galactica. Template for everything that came later. Though I am a fan of the original show.

Yeah, that's my original thought as well. The original Galactica is damn well one of the best looking starships ever put on screen!

But then, I still think these are too big, at least for me personally (same with the XL- and DISCO-line btw). Where they the standard collection size, I'd happily buy all three of them, put two in the drawer, and pull whichever one I like that day out to put on my desk.:guffaw:
But they're just too damn big to neatly put away...

uh yeah. it's not really the size of the models, it's the size of the boxes. i have just started to condense by putting two models in one box. which kind of sucks, but gotta do what you gotta do.
i've got the 2003 galactica and pegasus. of the two, i say pegasus.

Haha, I've thrown all boxes out, and stack the models Tetris-style in a cabinet. And still have like three or four sitting openly around!
    Thanks for the advice! :techman:

funny, eaglemoss' UK site has the XL bird-of-prey up for pre-order due later this month:

seems they've bypassed the akira-class that was supposed to be out two months ago.

would be nice to get some season 2 ships this summer... section 31 ship, D7, penis-shaped federation fighters... eaglemoss dropped the cleave ship right before it showed up in the finale, but i’m pretty sure that was a coincidence.

We still haven’t finished season one. There’s only a few season 2 ships anyway.
It was weird we never saw anymore Starfleet vessels in season 2, besides the Discoprise.

funny, we may never actually see most
of those ships again. even if we get a pike spin-off, the producers would
likely pursue designs that better reflect the enterprise.

still happy to have a USS shran and kerala and all the others...stored in my closet.

That hasn't stopped Eaglemoss from making one and done ships of the week so I'd say the chances are good.

It's a very nice model, except like many of the other XL's released in recent months, it's actually lacking a lot of details that are found on the regular sized issue. For one thing, it doesn't have the turquoise lining running on the edge of the saucer. I don't know what Eaglemoss means by that.

having examined the XL and standard models, i see no details missing on the XL except for that turquoise line. and there are numerous other sculpted and painted details that are on the XL that aren't on the standard.

but yeah, i think the most effusive thing i can say about it is it's a solid model.

Never was a fan of what they did to the Excelsior class with the B.

And, good luck on your wedding!
