Thankfully there is plenty of Trek for everyoneWait, so you just want old 23rd century trek and you refuse to try anything new? Isn't that a little narrow minded?

I see where they got it from, they said in January the next two would air after Season 2 ended, but they didn’t give exact dates, so someone on there is speculatingI’m pretty sure Memory Alpha is wrong as the dates haven’t been announced as far as I know. We’ll see
Hopefully, someone in the writer's room has the good sense to stand up and point out that Star Trek without the Federation/Starfleet is like Star Wars without the Force. It's got to be, They set up that scenario with "CALYPSO".
Literally anything. What else can they really do?
If they did, they would've shown us. They're pulling the exact same trick they did last season with having the Enterprise showing up out of nowhere with no indication of why or what it could lead to, committing to a seed of a premise for the next season and hoping they'll come up with something worthwhile later since they've burned down the rest of their premise and ongoing arcs.I really, really hope they have this more thought out than just "Hey, let's go way into the future and figure it out later."
It's not really about the specific number of years. It's about the ability to set up a new galactic arrangement of powers and what not. It allows for freedom to tell stories and not be hemmed in by canon issues. Before the premise behind Discovery was announced, I thought they were going with post Nemesis series for these reasons. This is effectively the same thing. I was surprised Discovery was going to be a prequel, although if I had to set it at some pre-Nemesis time, they did what I would've done.I got enough of Treks future with the Berman years.
I'm not especially looking forward to another 900 year jump.

That's probably the case.If they did, they would've shown us. So, you can't think of any other possibilities? Nothing? It's either Fall of the Federation or Risa? What else can they really do? 13 episodes on Risa will get dull pretty quick.
Well, you can watch The Orville for free.Meh, not my cup of tea anymore.
Well, I'll save my ten bucks for D+ I guess.
The guy who's in charge of the production said 950 Years.I really wish we got some on screen confirmation that they jumped 950 years into the future. Though I think it will be an interesting way to have a cold start to the next season be a huge WTF.
Basically huge cliffhanger now. Huge WTF opening with mental adjustment during the credits
... and someday, I probably will.Well, you can watch The Orville for free.
You’d think they would give a explanation considering the fuss they made all over them this season. It was never explained.
Something something tachyons wormholes blargh.
