Another prediction: a torpedo gets stuck in the Enterprise saucer section. Maybe Spock has to stay behind (when Dicovery goes to future) to fix that.

NO EPISODE OF DISCOVERY HAS AIRED AT THE SAME TIME IN EUROPE AS IN THE US!

In Europe we got season 1 on Mondays, whilst in the US it was on Sundays. Pindar claimed the season finale of season 1 aired at the same time on both continents. That did not happen.

My prediction is that Discovery is being used as bait by the Federation to get all of Control's resources in one place so its threat can be taken care of with minimal losses, especially as the Klingons, eager to test out their new ships are looking for a good fight and don't care if they suffer a few losses. Win-win for the Federation (as they are likely hoping this situation gets rid of the spore drive whose operation violates at least one major statute regarding genetically enhancing people.)

That’s the title reserved for the alternate director’s cut bonus when the complete box set of the series is released.

Where is Davey and obligatory early 9? I want to balance it with early 4
I’m kidding of course. Hoping for a great 10 worthy episode
Oh and no last minute “surprise” :borg: reveal, please.

    Preditions:
    1. Control will turn out to be the Borg origins in the final five minutes of the episodes, not earlier
    2. The "jump to the future" of the main ship and the crew that said goodbye will happen and work as a teaser for the next season (like the appereance of the TOS Enterprie last season). Spock will be neatly left behing for Pike's Enterprise, Georgiou will come with into the future.
    3. Burnham in the red angel suit will get seperated from the Discovery and her crew - during that time, she will travel back and create all the red signals and paradoxes (melding with Spock, being recognised as Burnham)
    4. Burnham will have a plan how to get the Discovery into the future, but the crew back into the present. This plan will go wrong, and they will all be stranded in the future in the end.
    5. Somehow, the Discovery will stay for a thousand years unattended in a nebula, with the sphere data bcoming "Zora", only to be re-boarded by Burnham and the crew in the end.
    Biggest fear:
    • This finale has A LOT of ground to cover. Much like last season, they pretty much left all major mysteries and plot threads hanging up until the final episode. I fear this episode will be crammed to the fullest as well, and many eplanations/plot developments will feel cut short (like that bomb that was supposed to destroy Kronos), only to neatly tidy up all plot threads in such a limited amount of time
    Looking forward to:
    • Big, dumb space battles with sparkling bridge consoles. It was a good choice of the producers to hold them back this season - this makes them actually happening more meaningfull
    • Whatever they do with the Enterprise, Pike, Spock & Nr. One. I suspect them all being left in place as a backdoor pilot.

I pretty much agree with all your theories. However, I can't figure out if Discovery is stranded in the future how Georgiou gets back to the 23rd century for her Section 31 show. Unless the Section 31 show takes place in the same time Discovery gets stranded in, but that seems weird to me. The fact that Yeoh is in season 3 is the one detail that always throws me for a loop when it comes to the jumping to another time theories.

Unlike last year, tonight's episode is a good amount longer. Will You Take My Hand was 45 minutes long, but based on the Canadian TV time-slot, tonight's episode will be over an hour long. So at least they devoted more time to tie things up.

I fell asleep early last night on the couch.

And I have to work this evening, so I won't be able to watch till after midnight. (EDT)
But my early prediction is that my vote will be somewhere in the 1 to 10 range.
    :nyah:

Of course the anticipation will push it closer to the 10 side, while the sadness of knowing it's over, will pull it toward the 1 side.

    :biggrin::weep::biggrin::(:biggrin::scream::biggrin::censored::biggrin: ... :wtf:

I'm really hoping that it's not all tied up in a neat bow. If they go with a major status quo change, there's much less stuff that has to happen in this episode.

What I'm pondering is this: if Michael and company successfully move the ship to the future and get stranded there, how will they know they've been successful? Will the galaxy immediately be populated again? If so, wouldn't Dr. Burnham's recent life get rewritten? Could the final red burst lead to the rendezvous with the Enterprise in which Michael gets a final farewell and a chance to confirm that Control is successfully vanquished? Time-wimey is such a headache.

Will we see Jacob again? It would be bizarre if they didn't tie up that thread.

If we go to the future, we'll see get to spend any time there? I sincerely hope that if that happens, we don't get thirty seconds at the end in which they encounter a ship that tells them they're in the 33rd century. In other words, I'd like to see a different ending than last season.

Wherever they drop the Disco, they still need to let her sit. How's that going to work? Why will they do that?

I'm going to cross my fingers that they don't kill Reno.

If Disco goes to the future for season 3 w/ Georgiou, I wonder if it might be a one-season jaunt for the rest of the crew, and then Georgiou is left in the future when the rest of them return. Maybe her spin-off is her recreating Section 31 in the 33rd century, or whatever.

Or perhaps If they do go the future, I feel like it would have to be some version of post-Federation, and our characters task will be restoring it. The Disco and Georgiou shows could both remain set in the future, proceeding on parallel tracks of re-establishing the Fed.

(Of course, knowing Disco pacing, if they arrive to a devastated, post-apocalyptic, galaxy-wide wasteland in episode 1, I fully expect them to have the entire Federation completely restored to TNG levels in 13 episodes time)

I like your optimism and hope it's not misplaced! I have no confidence myself, I can hear the post-finale producer interview now ("We thought it was lovely and so romantic that Jett would finally get to reunite with her dead wife...")

That's why I am betting on this:

It's coming. We just don't know how complete a reset it will be. Will Discovery move to 28th century and no one in 23rd remember anything about it? Will Pike still remember his future destiny? Section 31 show is still a go, but Michelle Yeoh said it will have a much nice Georgiou: https://trekmovie.com/2019/04/17/mi...-show-will-be-more-fun-with-a-nicer-georgiou/
So it's perhaps the Prime Georgiou that will be featured in Section 31 show. So many questions, such a big reset coming... ;)

I think they're either going all back in time to the 23rd century either during or at the end of season 3, and if not, at least Georgiou. It's pretty easy to send a single character back in time on Star Trek. Only if they took multiple people to the future (say, Spock and Pike) I would dismiss this possibility. But a lot can happen in an entire season (3) of Star Trek, and I guess the S31-show is further away than we assume.

If a reset does happen, considering it would basically erase Burnhams timeline and interactions, Prime Georgiou may still be alive
