I kept thinking that myself.Couldn't they have just blown up the Discovery's computer core to destroy the Sphere Data?

It would have voided the warrantyCouldn't they have just blown up the Discovery's computer core to destroy the Sphere Data?
Which is pretty much DSC in a nutshell so far. Not hating--it's just the truth.Or to be more colorful, "this lame universe where Klingons kick ass and you weaklings can't do anything".
My downfall would be a hotdog with the works. That's the 500 pound gorilla in the room that we've all been avoiding talking about!
That would stop the transfer but with how dependent the ships are on the computers, I don' think that's such a good idea.It would have voided the warranty
Better than every sentient (mortal--no way in hell Control could destroy the god-tier lifeforms) lifeform in the galaxy being destroyed. That would stop the transfer but with how dependent the ships are on the computers, I don' think that's such a good idea.
If I recall correctly, they did expand the season by one episode.I feel like the last two episodes should've been combined into one--regular length not extended. That would have been an action packed episode where they capture the RA and we got to know her mom before she was snatched away again.
I'm wonder if they actually split this episode in two and extended the parts to expand the season?
Funny how I think the complete opposite of what you just posted.I haven't watched the episode yet, but I'm not so invested in the show that I mind spoilers.
Discovery is an incoherent mess. From an unlikable main character to shoddy writing, but this? It's only the second season and the threat is an evil AI set to destroy all life in the galaxy. When that threat is neutralized, where to go from that? Everything pales in comparison to that! Mindless writers and show runners.
No, it's stupid. Better to put a bomb in the suit and put the data there in case you need the damn ship.Better than every sentient (mortal--no way in hell Control could destroy the god-tier lifeforms) lifeform in the galaxy being destroyed.
Get rid of the data, and the entire problem is gone before it can even start. One starship isn't worth a damn compared to that. That's actually a gaping plothole they've created. If the only way for Control to get what it wants is to absorb all of the information, and the data can't be deleted, then the only logical response is physically scuttling the computer core. No, it's stupid. Being wiped and being destroyed are two entirely different things.Get rid of the data, and the entire problem is gone before it can even start. One starship isn't worth a damn compared to that. Also, the DS9 episode "For the Uniform" proved a ship can survive even with the computer being completely wiped.
It's called an "opinion" and we all have them. They can be more or less informed, so I would really be interested to hear what could possibly top a storyline with these kind of stakes involved.Funny how I think the complete opposite of what you just posted.
Why bother to watch something you obviously don't like?
How I choose to spend my time is of no concern to noone else though. It's hardly not something to require you to think to follow or with many characters and twists (such as GoT or The OA) so you can do other things when watching it in the background.
