IMO it doesn't make sense for mirror Georgiou of all people to say "the prime universe". There's no fictitious scientific basis in Star Trek for that; it would have to be cultural chauvinism by a universe local. Georgiou should have said something like "this universe" or "the Federation universe".

Or to be more colorful, "this lame universe where Klingons kick ass and you weaklings can't do anything". ;)

That's the 500 pound gorilla in the room that we've all been avoiding talking about!
My downfall would be a hotdog with the works.
I've never been able to make it through my usual five without dripping something on my t-shirt.
:sigh:

And blowing up the computer core would have left them stranded with no way to get home.
The computer controls 99% of the ship.
Also, Control would have probably figured out a way to stop it anyway.

That would stop the transfer but with how dependent the ships are on the computers, I don' think that's such a good idea.
Better than every sentient (mortal--no way in hell Control could destroy the god-tier lifeforms) lifeform in the galaxy being destroyed.

I feel like the last two episodes should've been combined into one--regular length not extended. That would have been an action packed episode where they capture the RA and we got to know her mom before she was snatched away again.

I'm wonder if they actually split this episode in two and extended the parts to expand the season?
If I recall correctly, they did expand the season by one episode.

I haven't watched the episode yet, but I'm not so invested in the show that I mind spoilers.

Discovery is an incoherent mess. From an unlikeable main character to shoddy writing, but this? It's only the second season and the threat is an evil AI set to destroy all life in the galaxy. When that threat is neutralized, where to go from that? Everything pales in comparison to that! Mindless writers and showrunners.

Funny how I think the complete opposite of what you just posted.
Why bother to watch something you obviously don't like?

No, it's stupid. Better to put a bomb in the suit and put the data there in case you need the damn ship.

Personally, even if it was my long lost mother doing it, I'd be creeped out to learn that I was being spied on during various moments of my life. Besides which, I have no idea how Michael's mom was even able to do that... or how that beam brought Michael back to life last episode. I guess she supplemented the suit with advanced technology from the future? That would explain why they assumed the Red Angel suit was made from future tech, even though it turns out it's actually from twenty years in the past. Also, couldn't Dr. Burnham have used the suit to go back in time to learn the dead language being used by the data from the sphere so they could delete it in the present?

I didn't dislike this episode, but I will grant that it was probably one of my least favorites of the season. However, I'm not disappointed by the rogue A.I. story arc the way some seem to be. True, it's a well worn trope in science fiction, but I don't think it's something Star Trek has done before... at least, not on this scale.

Get rid of the data, and the entire problem is gone before it can even start. One starship isn't worth a damn compared to that. That's actually a gaping plothole they've created. If the only way for Control to get what it wants is to absorb all of the information, and the data can't be deleted, then the only logical response is physically scuttling the computer core.

Also, the DS9 episode "For the Uniform" proved a ship can survive even with the computer being completely wiped.

Being wiped and being destroyed are two entirely different things.
And they tried to wipe the data but IT prevented them from doing so buy altering it's software.
It probably would have also stopped a self destruct sequence.

It's called an "opinion" and we all have them. They can be more or less informed, so I would really be interested to hear what could possibly top a storyline with these kind of stakes involved.

How I choose to spend my time is of no concern to noone else though. It's hardly not something to require you to think to follow or with many characters and twists (such as GoT or The OA) so you can do other things when watching it in the background. ;) And it still bears the name Star Trek (even if it has very little in common with it).

Slyly belittling the intelligence of fans of a tv show you don't like isn't exactly helpful. It's attitudes like that which make the fandom a pretty shit place to be most of the time.

So disappointed Amanda Grayson wasn´t in this one....

Seriously... "She´s your mother" was the only explination, why the neurological patterns were identical? I hope not...

Resistence to idea that Leland creates the Borg is now futile, I´m afraid. Plus, in the next episode they even go to Boreth. I don´t like the implications.

Plus, this is nitpicking, but isn´t it a little strange Klingons in their previous episode didn´t mention one of the signals was just next to their holy place?

EDIT: And everyone will have to suck the sick irony that Federation created the Borg. Guinan and the entire Delta quadrant should sue them if this is the truth. And imaginig those guys in Memory Alpha when they´ll edit the Borg article.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

The Sphere's data did not alter its software. It created new software, firewalls to be specific in a language not known to the Federation, preventing the destruction of the data.

It is lucky for the AI when it did its trademark villain monologue that it had a captive audience. Not so lucky when personating Leland it got his personality wrong.

It looks like next week that the AI disposes of the pesky organics aboard the ship.

You just summed up the Berman & Braga TNG era and their overuse of the Borg post TNG's - BoBWs ;)
