It was a good episode because it showed that sometimes the things they do seemingly for no reason, like Georgiou mentioning Leland knowing Michael's parents, actually might be red flags for something to pay attention to. The reveal was interesting, the episode was well paced, and it'll be great to see what they do with four more episodes.

Tilly's line at the end was the only thing that saved that ridiculously immature scene for me. Basically an instant meme …

For me it capped off a very funny scene with a great punchline.

By slavishly trying to duplicate the same performance Reeves gave, IMO.

Well, to be fair, that was a flaw throughout the movie. Kevin Spacey's performance as Lex Luthor was a complete imitation of Gene Hackman. I would counter however with Ethan Peck's run as Spock. Different actors playing the same character within the same reality keeping it reasonably consistent.

Tilly is a real person inserted into a ship full of demigods. I love her. And yes she needs to stop talking sometimes, as several other characters have tried to tell her.

She's like a great spice. A little goes a long way. I still get the vibe that she's not going to survive the series. Wouldn't mind being wrong on that though.

Your vagueness has me not understanding what your saying, son.

Someone else had referenced it so I didn't see the need to explicit. However, it was worth it for that picture alone :D

And I'll add an observation from Reddit that I think sums it up pretty well:
Post-Discovery, I suspect, he'll be nabbed by the Feds and sent to be 'repaired' by cousins of the institutions seen in Dagger of the Mind. The use of technology to fix him will file off certain sharp edges and dull some of the shiny surfaces that make him clear as Mudd but... the implication is that the Harcourt Fenton Mudd we meet in TOS is a mentally damaged victim of a system that claims to be able to use science to adjust minds.

If anything, that makes him a tragic character in TOS because we've seen the dark, brooding, genius Harry Mudd turned into a buffoon.

I really don't get why they were so adamant about capturing the Angel. The Angel, who was believed to be Burnham was on their side. Presumably she should have contacted them if it was possible or in any way a good idea.

They thought the future AI was hitchhiking on her wormhole to go to the past, so by capturing her they will disable future AI from time travelling.

I think MU-Georgiou was actually trying to bring Stamets and Culber back together, in her own way. I must be honest, I didn’t like the scene either... but, I do think it was meant to show that Georgiou is actually trying to do help these guys out...
I don't know about that. All I took from the scene was that Georgiou wouldn't have minded being the meat in a Kulber/Stammets sandwich. :)

If you watch closely when his eye first gets stabbed and he's on the floor some sort of blue wash goes though his eyes. If movies have taught me anything it's that if you are possessed by something your eyes either turn an evil shade of light blue or red when it takes control of you.

I think he’s just dead. The console was shown repeating his voice with a distortion. I figured it was simply mimicking him.

He may be dead, but I don't think Control is done with Leland yet.

This look a lot like his hand from next weeks preview.

A suspended smuggling sentence and counterfeiting is a far cry from being a anti-social psychopathic killer.

The problem with the Reddit repost was, that while humorous, it's supposition would have been duly noted on Mudd's record. We can plainly see it is not.

Liking your post because, even though I both agree with fireproof78 and am against smoking, this picture kicks ass.

Lord Garth, have no fear my good man. I never take your "like" of a post of mine personally.

It clear that by accepting "psychiatric treatment" allows for a person to start again with a clean slate (see: Dagger of the Mind for details on the kind of clean slate 23rd century psychiatry provides criminals).

Besides, in order for Harry Mudd to be a psychopathic killer, someone actually had to be dead. And no one he supposedly killed is actually dead of any cause anyone can attribute to Mr. Mudd.

Oh, and you're one witness has self implanted alien DNA in his system which contravenes Federation law and thinks that mushrooms are a great FTL propulsion method for starships. But cannot explain further because this is 'classified'. Cross examination should be interesting.

The Defense has no further questions at this time, however, our client will consider pleading guilty to penetration of a space whale and will be willing to submit to psychiatric treatment for that... indiscretion on the condition that is also expunged from his record. Yes, your honor, you really had to be there.

I don't think Harry really began that little adventure actually meaning to kill Lorca.
(or anybody else)
But when it didn't go according to plan over and over and over again, when he did eventually kill him, it just became a game to Harry.
He knew that any damage he did could be reset each and every time until he got what he wanted.
(and since he came on board Discovery with no clue about the Spore Drive, every time he learned something new he reset the clock)

Control would have nothing to gain by killing Leland. He has possessed him for sure.
The killing part may be a byproduct of the jab in the eye though.
I doubt Leland would have survived something being shoved into his brain like that without Control's further assistance afterward.
