The show doesn't imply that at all.Because TOS occurred in the timeline where Michael died as a kid.

I think he means as in "Say goodnight, Gracie."I think it's a first. At least for Spock. Data might've said it at some point. It's definitely not in Star Trek IV.

So the Red Angel is a human. Is it someone we know?
We know Janeway. We know she loves fucking with the timeline. So the Red Angel is a human. Is it someone we know?
I'm just thinking George Burns.........#goodnightgracieI’m sure that “say goodbye Spock” is a reference to something that happens later but I can’t place it. Maybe Star Trek IV?
No, it doesn’t “imply”— it *shows* you history was changed by the Angel’s intervention.
Airiam is under the control of whoever controls the squid probes. The crew just assumed it was someone working for S31.Airiam is in contact with Section 31 it looks like.
Re: sound effects. The same sound effect from "The Cage" when Vina and the wreck survivors disappear is used when the true Vina is revealed to Burnham. It's subtle but unmistakable.
TOS was inconsistent in that fact
There was an episode where Kirk chased the Enterprise in a shuttle.
It's funny. I had the completely opposite reaction. My reaction was, oh, that was all it was about?!Oh, don't think for a minute I'm joining the other camp. No way. In fact, this only strengthens my argument -- our argument -- that she's not a Mary Sue.
For me, it's very different. It's something else entirely. This is like when I was pissed off at Lorca last year when I realized he had a thing for Burnham even though he was her step-father in the Mirror Universe.
Not happy with Burnham saying all those horrible things to Spock at all. Amanda, if she finds out, will kick her out of the family for sure. Sarek will still talk to her, but Amanda will be pissed at him for doing it.
Waiting until this point in the series to address why Spock never talks about Burnham was the right move.
It is kinda logical to think that though.Still doesn't imply that the TOS timeline is the one where Michael died as a kid.
