Faith of the heart has grown on me

I never had an issue with the idea of using a song for a Trek opening. Trek shouldn't be too conservative to not try something different every now and then. After four shows with grand themes, it's fun to try something different for once. However, they could have picked a better song. I don't think the song used is terrible, and I get why it was picked because it fits thematically, but there's a whole bunch of other songs out there that would have brought more excitement. I do think Braga's pick of "Beautiful Day" would have been a more inspired choice.

Please read the whole thread, folks.
Dude, it's seven pages of 127 posts, that's kind of unreasonable.

Usually reading the last few posts before joining in is enough.
the theme song used also feels like it makes an explicit statement about "Finally getting past those damned Vulcans who have been keeping us penned in."
I got the vibe of "we're going out there for a experience," verses "we're on a professional mission."

I don't know, it seems like @BobR has a point in that it's a very emotional song about the human spirit and being able to achieve anything, which is basically the opposite of what the Vulcans want. They want the humans to be logical, stay in their neighborhood and lower their expectations.

It's terrible. The show had more than its share of bad ideas that they stubbornly stuck to.

I do like the use of Archer's Theme in the end credits, though. I always preferred that the opening and closing music be different anyway.
I, too, liked "Archer's Theme" for the closing credits. I think it worked out well that the show used a different song for the closing credits.

"Faith of the Heart" is upbeat and uplifting. It is great as the opening theme.

"Archer's Theme" is more subdued, as you wrote; and it created a contemplative mood, which I thought was fitting as the closing music, especially when it followed an emotional or thought provoking story.

The only other show, that comes to mind right now, that had different opening and closing songs was Baywatch.

I've barely seen any Enterprise at all, past one episode, nor did I watch it new, but I know I always quite liked the song and the clips.

It was a nice little capsule of Earth's space progress is what I liked, with some fairly decent editing in it too. I've always been a sucker for music videos, both watching and making them myself, so yeah.
