Or maybe not exactly a surgery. Maybe (brace yourself, this might hurt)...

Michael discovers mind transfer technology, and to hide from her past, steals the identity of an innocent scientist named Janice Lester. All she has ever wanted was to command her own starship and get close to Spock. After the Kirk operation failed, she transferred to Sybok for a second attempt. Spock was the only one who knew the truth.

Can this theory get any worse?

What the heck, is this a thing? I thought shipping Michael and Spock together was bad enough, lol.

EDIT: Scrolled up, got a good laugh.

Pretty sure Shatner/Judy and Garfield Reeves-Stevens' Star Trek Academy: Collision Course had Cadet Kirk (and Pike) involved with S31, although I don't think he was truly aware of who was pulling the strings.

Again, why is Kirk of any importance at this stage of his career, to even have his name dropped?

Ooooohhh, now I want that to happen! Give him a few pointers, correct him on stuff he's wrong about. Make him apologize to her needlessly. Show him the error of his ways. That he would have never made an effective captain without Burnham showing him the ropes.

I'm only half kidding of course, but I always get a kick out of the outrageous reactions by the alt-right contingent of fans, like how they perceived Connolly dying because the show is trying to put down white straight males. It's delicious.

They really amped up the little things that drive those ppl crazy this season and I'm loving it. Every 'tiny male brains' or 'we call it persistence' I smile and wait for the next soon-to-be-closed thread to pop up.

I mean, there's a big gap between the awe-inspiring legend status he achieved, and being completely unremarkable. He was always supposed to be a bit larger than life, I think. By TOS he already has what seems to be an entire career's worth of medals, and apparently rose through the ranks while still in the academy.

It would be fun to take certain pieces of TOS but gender swap, like men becoming instantly frightened in an exaggerated way as we had to see Uhura do. Have a dire moment take place where Kirk has to tell Burnham "Commander... I'm frightened".

On the topic of gender-swapping, I'd love to see Tig Notaro as Chekov.

Or perhaps an episode where they're transporting to a planet below and Michael is left on the transporter pad yelling in agony, "THE MEN!!!!!!!"

The character of Ro, planet Bajor and its occupation by Cardassians were all created for DS9. That's why Rick Berman gets story credit for TNG's "Ensign Ro" episode. Berman and Piller had already started working on DS9 and used TNG episodes to set up backstories for DS9.

TAS essentially did an episode when the men pretty much became superfluous...

And to some degree the TOS episode "Spock's Brain" ...

Man, I really gotta watch all of TAS. On that note, I've seen the first two episodes on Netflix, and goodness, the remaster looks GREAT! Despite being a crude back-in-the-day show, the background art and character models hold up really well. I specifically want to watch all the episodes everyone cites when in reference to things in DSC like the rec room not-holodeck.

It is only important to the audience, just like the Enterprise, Pike, Spock and the like.

Sarek is essentially the Vulcan equivalent of a deadbeat dad. So, it stands to reason he was sneaking around behind Amanda's back.... because it was the logical thing to do. :vulcan:

OK, I figured it out. Spock murders a bunch of doctors, but then transports the corpses to Talos IV so that they can live again.

THE KEEPER: "The dead doctors have an illusion, and you have reality. May you find your way as pleasant.... AGAIN!..." [Mental eyeroll]

    Spock exonerated. Cue credits....

    ... I'll see myself out.

Are we branding people as "alt-right" now because they aren't particularly a fan of ONE character?

I consider myself as center-left in my views (a political leaning which is dying out in the face of two extremes, because nobody is allowed to be moderate in their views anymore, goddamnit)

I wasn't a fan of Connolly and don't care that he's gone. But the trolling of people with different views really needs to stop on this forum. I don't care which side it is that's doing it, have a civil discussion or stop talking, because it's just as tiresome and eye-rolling seeing trolling from the far left as it is the alt-right.

    Sigh
