Heroes I quit midway through season 3.

I actually liked season 1 a lot, despite the sort of frustrating format you mentioned. It had an effective buildup, a sense of wonder and suspense and the finale delivered on promise. Season 2 was just kind of boring nothingness partly due to the strike. But season 3 just kind of wandered around aimlessly in circles.

My problem with the Lithgow season was that I felt like if Dexter was as skilled a killer in season 4 as he was in the first three at any point in the season, the sequence of events at the end would have never happened. I hate it when they have to dumb the characters to contrive the story they want.

I raced through the first season of Kimmy Schmidt and greatly enjoyed it. (Granted, I was stuck on a tiny Navy base in the middle of Nowhere, Nevada at the time, so there wasn't much else to do.) When the second season dropped on Netflix, I eagerly fired it up... and realized, about ten minutes later, that I had no interest at all in going any further.

The writers strike really messed up Heroes. The original plan for the back half of Season 2 would have elevated the first half near the status of the first Season. Unfortunately, they didn't think anyone would have the attention span to wait that long on a cliffhangar, so they tied up Season 2 quickly and rebooted totally for Season 3. It was a huge fail, obviously. The only really terrible arc was the first half of Season 3, but it was enough to kill the show. Even where it ended, had a ton of potential that could have brought all of the seasons together if it had continued, with competent writers. I'm still proud of my outline for Season 5... :D

Too many to mention, some I gave up on before the end of the season, like Firefly and Crusade, Tru Calling, Point Pleasant. Class, Caprica, K-9.

Caprica was a weird show. If I remember correctly the show was cancelled before they aired the final four episodes and then I guess those episodes came out on DVD and I never got around to watching them.

Veronica Mars was so boring. The only episode I found interesting was the season 1 finale and even that couldn’t make me continue.

Obviously, mileage varies, but I went through the first two seasons over a long weekend break on my first run:)

Caprica felt like two completely different show between the first half and second half. The first half alienated a lot of the BSG fanbase for being too weird. But by the time it got going, it was too little too late.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Caprica didn't start out as a BSG prequel, did it? Originally it was supposed to be a completely new series that had BSG elements slapped onto it at the last minute.

It was meant to be a prequel. The creators just thought they had a lot more time to buiild up the connecting tissue. They were, of course, wrong as the PTB lowered the boom long before the first season ended.

I'm actually liking the idea that the First Hybrid from nuBSG is actually Daniel Graystone...

Actually, according to the coda they made for the end of the series, that would be his daughter, Zoe.

I also quit Caprica after the first season.

It had some interesting ideas, but it was high concept without cohesion or a real point. And way too much focus on religious terrorism. They criticize decadent modern culture but not in any interesting way, then they have this game world where once you die you can never get back in like, okay that's kinda cool but what's the point and what are you actually trying to say?!

Halfway through season 2 of Designated Survivor I literally said out loud "Why am I still watching this?" Such a great concept, such crappy execution. I thought because it was hampered by the constraints of network TV...but, no. I doubt Season 3 on Netflix will be any better. Netflix made Longmire from good to awesome. I highly doubt they can do anything with Designated Survivor. And Kirkman yelling "SHIT!" (just because it's Netflix) isn't going to cut it.

Star Trek Discovery -- Ugh. I won't say anything more than that.

Outlander -- (Arthur Morgan voice) I tried....I did.

Chalk up another for Supernatural. Demon of the week storylines and jumpscares didn't endear the show to me.

How to Get Away With Murder. The last of the trilogy of shows I tried to watch at the urging of the girlfriend. There was some quality there but just not enough to interest me long-term.

Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman - I gave this a real try. Lasted until halfway through season 2, then I just fell off the wagon, as it were. I liked the show, just not enough.

Chalk another one up for The Walking Dead. I lasted till the beginning of season 4 with this. But I couldn't get past the show's first cartoon villain, and the friend (and TWD superfan) who told me to watch the show said that the cartoon villains just kept coming after that. So I bailed.

Oh! I forgot Tyrant. A show I was super-interested in and eagerly awaiting, but turned out to be so disappointing. Apparently FX outbid HBO for it. …..it should've been on HBO. I have a feeling that "basic cable edgy network TV" neutered it.

Under the Dome. I watched all the episodes. It started promising with good actors, but declined into a ridiculous ending. I never understood why King agreed to this.

    1. I could not get past the first episode much more less season of Game of Thrones. I fell asleep
    2. I broke out of Prison break and stopped watching a few episodes of season 1.
    3. And I lot lost with Lost in the first season.
