I knew it. CBS really had nothing to gain anymore by keeping them exclusive to their service. People have now Season 2 as a incentive to subscribe. They might have sold them to Netflix at a bargain price. Never believed that they would make rest of us wait until the disk releases.

    EDIT:
And they are found under Trailers & More.

It could have also been planned this way all along. Unlike Discovery, the Short Treks only came out once a month instead of once a week. I think they probably planned to drop them on Netflix all at once before Season 2.

I think Netflix probably always planned to do a box set drop alongside the S2 premiere.

I don't think for one second it was held back by CBS.

I don't know. Why not then announce to desperate fans that Short Treks would be added to Netflix before season 2? Or why is there still no mention of Short Treks on any of Netflix's social media channels? I don't believe that this was planned in any way. CBS/Netflix relationship seems to be a lot worse now than what it was before. Would not surprise if CBS just told to Netflix that here they are. Put them online.

Netflix is completely focused on its original content now as every studio is getting into the streaming game and threatening to pull their content. It's not just CBS whose content Netflix is not promoting that much.

Another thing is... I don't have the link for it but I seem to remember reading that Netflix has the rights to show any Star Trek series that is a direct spinoff of Discovery. So this would include the Short Treks that have to do with Discovery (all 4 of them so far) and I assume the Georgiou series.

I haven't read anything like that. Netflix may have first dibs on Star Trek content, but CBS can set the price and terms in any way it wants. And if Netflix doesn't want to pay then they are free to try to sell content elsewhere. There is probably a longer agreement only on the actual DSC series, not it's spinoffs (including Short Treks).

    Huzzah!

I've managed to squeeze the Tilly episode in so far. I like her anyway so was happy she had her own story. I liked it enough and I think these will be the perfect warm-up to wet my appetite for the first episode tomorrow.

Now everyone can pretend they saw Short Treks legally without questions or concerns about access. Hooray!

I don't see them on Netflix. When I search Star Trek, I only find TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT. Are they available only outside the US?

Somebody upthread said you have to look under the "Trailers & More" section of Netflix.
(and of course it goes without saying that the US version won't have them)

This is for non CAN/USA Netflix

Also since they're filed under 'Trailer and More' you don't need to be paying a sub to watch them.

I think it's more that Netflix wanted to wait until all four were available to release them all at once - a few days early - as a 'tease' to ST: D Season 2.

Does Canada have access to them on their Crave TV thingamajig? I'm in the US, but I'm just curious.
