I'm starting to get how my folks felt when some obscure actor from the 30s died.

Yes, seigezunt, such obituaries are a reminder that the world of your youth is fading away.

What's sad to think about is that everyone wants to be remembered but even the most well known of people are usually forgotten within thirty years. People who've been written about, led a country, a great leader in war, etc... MAY be remembered for longer but that's no guarantee and what is fame anyway? So fleeting, so meaningless

I love that line. Meyer added it at the last minute on set. It was his little sentiment to the fans that would miss Spock. Then they went and filmed the tube on the surface and told us exactly what would happen!

I find that line hilarious, because McCoy is the one carrying Spock's consciousness at the time. It even ties in with Spock's line ("remember...") during the katra transfer. It might be the first sign of Spock overriding McCoy as we saw in Star Trek III.

Both Imdb and Memory Alpha report that Yvonne Suhor passed away, age of 52 in September. She played the character of Eudana in the Voyager episode 'Prime Factors', bring Voyager passings to 34.

No wonder or surprise about this death; she'd been battling cancer for a while. A very sad end for her.:(

I just found that Charles Palmer passed away in 1987, date unknown, cause unknown. He played an unnamed litter bearer in the TOS episode 'Amok Time'. This brings passings within TOS to 274.

I just caught this. I remember him from an episode of "Cold Case" (the episode actually had quite half a dozen Trek guest stars in it) and as the old-timey city councilman in several episodes of "Parks & Rec". There was a funny scene in one episode where he was sleeping, someone nudges him awake, and he muttered "Iwo Jima".

In other news, last month, we also lost John D.F. Black, who wrote "The Naked Time". (He also had story credits on "The Naked Now" and "Justice", but we'll give him a pass for those).

A litter bearer? Are you saying that the Vulcans have dustbin men? :vulcan:
