Star Trek passings

I have loved Star Trek and follow the actors lives, and obviously, deaths. The fact I like numbers doesn't make it morbid. Only people who are scared of death would find it morbid. Hell, I worked in a cemetery for a year and found the work great.
Just made me think of that DS9 episode about that serial killer.
“That’s one”
“That’s two”
“That’s three”
...

Reported today on both Imdb and Memory Alpha that Marta DuBois passed away May 8th, age of 65, cause unknown at this time. She played Ardra on TNG's episode 'Devil's Due'. Brings TNG passings to 118.

Brain aneurism according to Facebook. Far too soon. She was great as Ardra and apparently a gifted singer. RIP Marta.

Very bummed to hear of Ellison's passing. I never met him, and I'm sure if I did he'd inevitably have humiliated me for pissing him off by saying something he thought was stupid. It would have been...glorious.

If not for the TOS episode City on the Edge of Forever, I wouldn't even know who he was. I've never read any of his books. I'm not sure that I would've wanted to. Authors I like are more classic in nature like John Steinbeck and Ernest Hemingway and H.R. Haggard, amongst others. But City on the Edge of Forever is how I'll remember him -- which is a classic, on it's own, isn't it? Sorry to hear about his passing, just the same, but 84's a good age, though ...

At the first science fiction convention I ever attended (Space-Con 4, in Los Angeles, 1977), my parents and I attended a small-room lecture he gave.

I remember seeing him entertain a large, enthusiastic audience at an I-Con in Long Island many years ago.

She also played Princess Koji opposite Stephen Collins' Jake Cutter in 'Tales of The Gold Monkey' which was one of my favorite shows from the 80s.

:( RIP

I don't think I'd care to have met him. Between his ego and Gene Roddenberry's penchant for taking credit for other people's work, I'm not sure who to root for in that "City..." dispute.

Still, a great episode, and both of them had a hand in making it so. (No pun intended).

I also met Ellison in 1977 here in Seattle at a scifi con in which he was talking about one of his latest novels. He asked for questions and I got to ask him where he got the idea for his short story published in Vertex scifi, titled 'Bleeding Stones'. The question took him aback and he had to consider whether to answer or not as it involved sexually assaulting nuns with their own crucifix's. I don't recall what he said but he admitted to having been tutored by Nuns and he had a lot of anger issues about that. You could tell my question angered him by his response. Also at the con was a very young George Takei and Robert Heinlein who, by then, was 70. I have none of Harlan's novels but many of his short stories and anthologies.

I met Harlan Ellison in '78 or '79. He was acerbic and sarcastic, which I kinda appreciate. There was something about the man (aside from that), I found off-putting. That said, he has always been one of my favorite short-fiction writers. His talent will be missed

RIP Harlan

First I'm hearing about Marta Dubois. Remember her as Ardra, of course, but she also had a recurring role on Magnum P.I.

It was just posted that Don Eitner had passed away last March 9th, age of 83. He played the navigator in one TOS episode - 'Charlie X', bringing TOS to 269 passings that I'm aware of.
