I'll see your Schlep Car and raise you a Speed Buggy. :techman:

I watched both of them all the time. Those were the days.

I remember the episode of Wonder Bug that had a duplicate of Schlep Car that was solid gold.

One of the two best Sid & Marty Krofft themes just happened to be about space travel and a show with some very TOS-esque makeup, sets and even themes of exploration and making friends with extraterrestrial intelligences. Say what you want, but Gilligan bumbling around on the surface of another planet would still be a better idea than a lot of modern sci-fi and sitcom ideas.

IMO it's probably still not entirely decided if or what kind of bridge window the Enterprise has. At the end of S1, it has a big, deep cut-out in the bridge dome, on the model Eaglemoss (and that mobile game) showed, there was none at all, just a small lightning stripe, and in the most recent Comic Con trailer, the ship again has a bridge window, but with a way less deep and noticeable cut-out and a better flow with the rest of the design.
The Anovos model has a deep bridge as well, but there is a secondary transparency at the edge of the dome, which I think you can barely see in the reveal at the end of S1. There is a second reflection along the rim of it as the camera pans by.

I wonder if the enterprise can turn that outer window opaque , and that's why it's black on the Adversaries and eaglemoss renders, and maybe in one shot of the trailer.

(though this here might just be a shadow)

*scratch that* So....are they going from 2 layers of transparent aluminum (or whatever) to 3, or what's the thinking, especially when the Discoprise enters the mix? :

I wonder what the benefit of the window turning opaque might be?

Assuming that’s what it is of course - as you say it’s hard to tell on that image.

Unless that’s what polarising the viewscreen looks like from the outside?

Could be, could be...

Perhaps a bulkhead can even slide into place over it, should the captain wish to use a standard viewscreen and not the window. Which would explain why we don't see it in TOS.

Ugh. I'm having a very frustrating discussion with some aparently insane person on the Star Trek Adversaries video. Just wanted to share it here since this is where the video was first posted.

If you click on the video to go to Youtube, it's the larger conversation of the bunch, between myself (Argumemnon, on Youtube) and the other guy. Just weird. The initial claim of his was simple enough, but it quickly devolved into the Twilight Zone.

Is it a different video than that one? That only has 35 responses and no back and forth.

No, that's the one. The first post is made by a guy named Franke Hernandez, who is the person in question. Maybe your Youtube settings display differently?

I would just step away since the guy in the comments clearly doesn't care.

Just leave it alone.

It's there and he's either being a douchebag or a troll (or both)

Yeah but that's boring. I'm not annoyed with him to the point of doing that. I'm just amazed at how he's carrying the conversation. I'm trying to imagine having this conversation face-to-face; what brings someone -- assuming he's being honest here -- to argue like this. The question I asked is so mind-boggingly simple...

I had to look at those comments now because my curiosity was piqued. That Franke Hernandez guy sure knows how to twist things and move goal posts. He's an old-school troll and, unfortunately, the YouTube Comments section is the perfect place for him.
