New Star Trek Series following Pike as Captain of Enterprise

CBS knows a few things about managing and getting the most out of their TV franchises, as the aforementioned CSI and NCIS demonstrate.

And yes, they're all the same shows with different casts.

I’ll be surprised if Mount and Romijn aren’t optioned for a spin-off already. Trek is the lifeblood of All Access, and they desperately need more content. If there’s any chance of a Pike show, CBS would be crazy to cast the characters and not lock in the actors before they could demand more money. (Not to mention it sounds like Enterprise sets are already being built, so the sunk costs will make the option all the more attractive to the number-crunchers.)

Perhaps this season’s cliffhanger will pick up in the first episode of Star Trek: Pike’s Peak.

(No, I’m not really suggesting that’s a good name.)

I was thinking that if Pike and His Number One end up in a bit of a tryst, They could call it "PIKE'S PEEK".

I would definitely watch a Star Trek series about Captain Pike, Number 1, Spock on the NCC-1701 years before Kirk's command.

I have no doubt that CBS wants to keep Trekkies subscribed to their service all year round. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm only subscribed while Discovery is being shown. If they were to put a Pike centric series on while Discovery is on hiatus, I'd keep my subscription and I'd be watching Pike and the Discoprise too. If they want to keep me paying, I need more content I would like to watch. Star Trek: Pike would fit that bill rather nicely.. As others have mentioned, they could stagger their productions and share some standing sets. It's almost a no brainer and CBSAllAccess would get the income they so desperately want by keeping me subscribed for a full year. YMMV....

Not me. That just isn't enough to keep me subscribed year-round, even if I liked both shows. They are going to have to be pumping out lots of quality stuff like Netflix, Amazon and Hulu do.

I don't care what they do, but I would love to see Rebecca Romain cast as a character. She's gorgeous and a great actress.she did great as Mystique in X-Men.

As far as Star Trek TV shows goes, I've always wanted a Connie and a new crew, with a good mixture of stand alone episodes and some story arcs. In other words, another TOS (with a different crew) and some story arcs to keep it interesting. I had high hopes for Discovery, but unfortunately I just didn't connect with the crew. Well, except for Lorca, and they killed him off.

I don't have a problem with all the retconning, that shit's inevitable when you get new producers and writers. As to a Pike/Spock/Uno Numero show, I say bring it on. I'm sure I'd like it better than Discovery, which for now, the only reason I'd watch the 2nd season is to see Pike and Spock and the new hot blond as Number One.
