TNG Returns!

Best way to predict if all rumors are true …. start tracking Jonathan Frakes visits to the gym.

I think what fans want most out of this is for it to look like no time has passed with TNG in terms of how it's produced. Everyone seems to want the visuals to look EXACTLY the same as well as the music -- I think I even saw one person somewhere say they wanted it in 4:3 format as opposed to 16:9. They basically wanted it to be TNG season 8.

Not me. I actually prefer the "All Good Things" aproach where we see where everyone is now at in their lives. That's what I wanted from the "X-Files" as well when it returned. I don't want "TMP" where the old timers are poured into their space suits like time as never passed. In fact I am curious also about the political climate of the AQ and how things have changed as well. ROmulans destroyed,Carddisia in ruins. Who knows what the Federation and Klingons are up to. Of course I want the show to capture some of the spirit of the old show but to me it's more of me wanting it to be both different yet familiar as well at times. Basically like "Orville" I want it to have a modern sense of humor and even modern type of speech but it still feels like TNG should feel like.

Yes but there are TOS fans who wanted the Jj films and Discovery to look exactly like the 6ps.

Some people have an inability to move on!!

I think you have no idea what fans want most.

Like what other fans keep saying, I want to see where Picard would be now, 20 something years after All Good Things. Ambassador, Admiral, Starfleet Academy, wherever, I almost don't want him on a ship at all.

I could see Picard on a ship, he's not that old in the 24th century, and while he might leave to go to some archelogical dig, I don't see him doing Admiral, but maybe still in the Captain's chair.

I could see Riker as an admiral, he was always career minded, aside from his man-crush on Picard for 15 years.

There's no reason a mini series couldn't bring most of the TNG cast in a story together, naratives have advanced a lot since the days of a series with a single crew on one ship appearing in every episode. Look at the main characters in Game Of Thrones - Jon Snow, Denerys, Arya, Cercie.

First 6 years I don't think any of them were on screen at the same time!

Easy enough...ambassadors Picard, Worf and Torres are taken hostage, Miral, Data and Geordi were at the party too. Admiral Janeway enlists the crew of the Titan (Riker, Troi, Tuvok) and specialist seven of nine to mount a rescue....Tom has to be in because that’s his wife and kid, but goes above their heads with the help of Chakotay to do his own thing...with the help of Ro Laren.
Stick the party on DS9 celebrating the end of the Dominion War, and you just got to sprinkle more cast in. Whole thing builds to the reuniting of Tom and B’Ellana as it’s emotional anchor for new viewers, and a meeting between Janeway and Picard face to face with fans. Start teasing some mystery, and end with Sisko coming back through the wormhole, the big three captains of the era all on screen at once.

Easy ;)

Edit: forgot to mention, the terrorist group moves Ds9 into the wormhole, so big stakes possible. Make their mastermind a rogue Hologram trying to bring back Lore via the temporal physics of the Prophets, and Brent Spiner and Robert Picard are shoe ins.

With the idea of Picard still being captain I wonder if Starfleet has a certain age for humans in how long they can stay in active service. At some point no matter how hard you work and train, age begins to effect the body which means you might could become a liability on away missions were you risk the danger of somekind of military type event. Granted with Starfleet I don't see them getting behind the idea of forced retirement especially when dealing with a person who brings a great deal of proffessional experience to the table. More like having them stationed or placed in duties were they may not have to engage in any type of fighting.

Forgive me for not quoting a source. It'll never happen again.

Hey, it’s canon......
I hate Nemesis as much as the next person who used to live within walking distance of seven sisters (hey Marina) but that moment was there on screen.

Picard was drunk and just thought he was talking to her. Him and Janeway hooked up the night before and his biggest nightmare (And ours) was her out ranking him.

I'm a little surprised they aren't doing a Voyager sequel where they have some of the characters back on the ship because it's the most watched Star Trek on Netflix... supposedly.
