2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia

Thirty years of hurt..... have now begun for Germany. And I don't care. Germany has slow swimmers not able to qualify for Qlympic finals, slow runners (track and field). We are good at javelin throwing with three Germans leading the world rankings.... as long they have favorable wind. Their problem: constantly anouncing a world record before being beaten by an underdog.

We, as a nation, have run out of beer (really).

Could you arrange to send us some of the good German stuff please ? You're not really going to need it...

Yes, congratulations, you are now England !

Seriously though, I can't imagine the slightest possibility of you going 52 years without winning anything.

Nah, if they were England, they'd have made it out of the group stage then floundered immediately in the playoff.

Should be interesting to see how the England/Belgium plays out. It could easily turn out to be Japan at #1, Colombia at #2. And then what do you do? Maybe the teams will prefer Japan, and they'll tank like a mediocre NBA team?

Or, reverse flopping. A guy will get hit hard and he'll pretend he wasn't hit at all.

I'm imagining a Monty Python scene breaking out at the end of the England/Belgium game. It's 1-1, Belgium is ahead of England by a couple discipline points. As the clock winds down, a Belgium guy runs out and kicks an England player in the groin.

Referee: What happened, what was that?
England player: Nothing, nothing. Everything is fine here.
Belgium player: What do you mean, nothing? I kicked you in the groin?
England player: You missed.
Belgium player: Missed? I got you right in the groin!
England player: Nope, nope. You got my jersey.
Belgium player: Then why are you hunched over?
England player: No I'm not.
Belgium player: Yes you are! You are hunched over in terrible pain!
England player: No I'm not. No pain whatsoever! I'm hunched over in fatigue.
Belgium player: You're bleeding!
England player: It's only a flesh wound.
Belgium player: See, he's bleeding! I get a yellow card, you must give me a yellow card, or else a groin kick will be unpunished, and what happens then? The entire fabric of society collapses!
England player: You're exaggerating.
Belgium player: No I'm not.
England player: The fabric of society will be fine!
Referee: He kicked you, I have to give him a yellow card.
England player: Then what about this? (Punches the Belgium player in the face)
Referee: Nope, I can't give you a yellow card. The game is over.
England player: Well bollocks.

It looks like who ever gets second place in group G is going to have an easier time in the knock out stage compared to the Group G winner.

England and Belgium are going to play to lose the top spot.

Now winning group H is unequivocally better, since it puts you in a quarter with Japan, Sweden and Switzerland instead of Colombia, Brazil and Mexico.

It was inevitable that we would get this video:

It's so weird that the winner of Group G is set to be punished more than the team that comes 2nd...

I think ENG/BEL will be a draw and we pick up a few cheeky yellow's to finish 2nd

The German team wrote a letter to the fans. They apologized for their performance. As for me: I'm looking forward to Swimming and Track and Field Eurochamps. The Germans should at least winn one medal in each of the sports. Which would be more successful than the football team.....
As to the beer: Paulaner? Erdinger Weißbier? Maisels Weisse? Becks? Kölsch? Alt? Pils? Krombacher? Clausthaler? Jever? Bitburger? Warsteiner?
