2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia

They are showing the faces of disappointed Argentina kids now.....

.... followed by a goal by Argentina. Only 4:3 for France. And things are ugly now.... How exciting!

Done !

That was a great match.

Mbappé was already becoming one of the most popular player in the team and it's only a beginning.

When Argentina scored 2-1 I thought I really have the touch of death and every team I support will meet an untimely knock-out. But FRance came back. I feel that they really came together as a team. They have to do better in defense, though.

Apparently, it's somewhat "PSG day" with goals from Di Maria, Mbappé and Cavani. (Meaning that something should go terribly wrong very soon for them ;) )

I bet on France and Uruguay's victories so, for now, it's fine.

Mbappé looks as if he's going to be the Next Big Thing in football. And he's only 19 years old. Incredible.

Kinda hoping Portugal will come back and beat Uruguay. I'm not a huge fan of Ronaldo, but I dislike Suarez even more.

Nice moment of good sportsmanship from Ronaldo helping an injured Cavani off the field.
Ronaldo just didn't want him to stall for time by walking off very very slowly.

As I expected Uruguay won. They were clearly the better team so far and anyone who didn't have them on their radar should take a closer look at their jerseys. They didn't get those four stars for nothing.

So disappointed for Messi, who regardless of this outcome has nothing to prove to anyone (and is the main reason Argentina qualified in the first place). But Argentina never looked like it at any point in this tournament. It'll be interesting to see how France fare from here. If that array of talent really clicks they could destroy an opponent.

Not at all unhappy about Portugal being eliminated. I have no great affection for Uruguay either but...yeah. Not unhappy. Uruguay have been excellent so far and the clash with France should be a terrific game.

Nice moment of good sportsmanship from Ronaldo helping an injured Cavani off the field.
Perhaps, but I agree with @Ayelbourne - my inner cynic saw it as Narcisso wanting to hurry Cavani off the pitch as much as anything else.

The two games today were as exciting as I hoped they would be. Uruguay (whose previous games I had missed) looked really strong and unassailable for a good chunk of the game but paid for it in the last 20 minutes or so when they were out of breath and couldn't mount any more attacks. They weren't good at possession then at all. It will be interesting to see how they'll fare against France. Really looking forward to England and Belgium. Still sad about Germany not being there, though. :(
