A Roseanne revival? Really??

Yeah, if ONLY she could reel in her racism... If only... then it would be ok to employ a racist conspiracy monger. As long as no knows, it's totally ok.
My apologies if my post reads as if in defense of Roseanne's actions. Her tweets today were deeply disturbing - but the nuance of my admittedly poorly worded post was intended to indicate that the network had one choice only in response: cancellation. And that Roseanne chose to be racist today. Not that she is incapable of not being racist and deserves to have more TV shows.
Thanks for the information about ABC Entertainment's CEO. No good came of Roseanne's willfully chosen actions today to anyone, and she will be dealing with that for the foreseeable future. She is absolutely on the hook for the livelihoods lost of whatever might have come next in this unlikely revival series.

Can't entirely agree with this. Disney/ABC shares a large portion of the blame too. They aren't some innocent rubes who didn't know who they were hiring. Roseanne has a long and well publicized history of posting vile bigoted remarks (and not just jokes like some posters here would like to believe) leading right up to the present day, and they were playing upon her controversial status in promoting the show. The show itself hinged on her bigotry as a plotline occasionally. They were absolutely right to remove her from the air, but they never should have re-hired her in the first place if they had a problem with it. I find the faux shock and outrage on their part when they gave a known bigot a larger venue to speak out to be ridiculous. The bottom line is that they were fine with her bigotry as long as it was happening the day before the revival aired, but objected to her doing it after the fact.
Thing is... finding something wrong elsewhere never makes wrongs, acceptable.
Bill is a dick too. However Roseanne ... she needs to own what she did.

The Murdochs are keeping the broadcast channel, their entire news apparatus and (some) of their sports stuff. Disney's getting everything else. Sadly, they could side with Roseanne and re-revive the revival. Assuming the cast would even return. DJ and Original Recipe Becky gotta eat, so who knows.
So she gets canned, ruined and saved within a single day? I didn't hear about the tweet until this morning and they already have an new tv home? Man things move fast these days.

Sara Gilbert will likely come out swinging with words at Roseanne next and after that I doubt they'll appear together again on screen.
Laurie Metcalf and John Goodman these are accomplished, celebrated actors that didn't have to return to this sitcom but did - for the fans. No way they'll come back now.
