A Roseanne revival? Really??

Her getting her own show cancelled by being racist is the best and most fitting possible outcome of this whole revival story. I was not on board for a Trump supporting Roseanne Conner.

If they reworked the show as 'Darlene' as @Emh suggested (BEST idea), I would be 10000% on that. I didn't give the revival a shot because I couldn't get past Roseanne Conner the character being turned into Roseanne the actor and felt that would be too distracting and disappointing to be able to enjoy.

The reboot is actually amazing, the weakest part is Roseanne Barr's acting. We should all start Tweeting ABC to continue the story with Roseanne gone.

Also crazy people think Fox can now pick up the show, not understanding that ABC owns the show, some of the actors have said they would quick even if the show wasn't canceled.

Holy fucking shit stains. I thought the revival was brilliant - an improvement over the old show and it was showing both sides of America's divide in an entertaining way. It almost made a case for functional tolerance of the 'other'. That's more valuable than the nostalgia factor.

People made far more out of the Trump thing than it actually was. The show did a great job of dealing with contemporary issues from a blue collar standpoint. I really hope that ABC brings it back it some capacity.

The statements from some of the cast and crew over this situation come off quite hollow.

She's been a nasty piece of work for years. So the whole pearl clutching reaction to her bigoted remarks are rather disingenuous.

And those claiming they were going to quit, before it got canceled, because they morally couldn't work with such a hateful person... where was their morality when this project started? She's been like this for years. Oh that's right, they were just fine with her until her horseshit started to make them look bad and screwing up their meal ticket. Then they suddenly had moral issues working with a bigoted asshat.

I must be missing the social commentary because it seemed like the joke, if it was even a joke because I am not even seeing the setup or punchline in what she said, is all about her looks. Even those jokes are usually about people who have a unique look to them and Valerie Jarrett looks like any typical human being. They are also usually among friends who like to Josh each other. What she said was just her wanting to say something mean about someone she doesn't like.
