Spoilers The X-Files: Season 11

^^ :rommie:

The book not being destroyed was the most magical thing to happen and everything else she saw could be written up as people doing bad behavior. I don't even think Mulder show the creepy kid stuff did he? I think he saw the wolf and that was it.
Yeah, that's true enough.

I have some major issues with this season. Mulder and Skully know that the cigarette smoking man has some crazy plan to fight global warming by making everyone die of colds but they are acting like this is season 2. Looking into murders in the backwoods, fighting sushi AIs, etc. There is no urgency whatsoever. There are probably 2 episodes left EVER in this classic show, and next week is another monster of the week. I understand that nostalgia is the selling point of this season but... nostalgia is literally all we're getting out of it. It's pretty certain at this point that the CSM storyline will not wrap up this season, and we'll be left with ANOTHER cliffhanger, this time with no resolution at all since GA is done. Sad.
Exactly! They're supposed to stop CSM... and yet... but to be fair, at least it's less eps by Chris. Unless the other writers were to take more slack in terms of the mytharc (which in some ways was done with Ghouli). The lack of urgency was rather frustrating. But yet, going off of Darin's ep... he just told fans to appreciate the past and try to appreciate what's next (para-phrasing here).

Yea... the whole cliffhanger thing ticks me off. Even though they're calling this a season finale, this is technically a series one in regards to both Mulder and Scully and the whole thing feels so underwhelming.

This season fits in better in the middle of the show than at the end.

I hear you on all of that, and I would've agreed with you until this season. In the past, I always particularly enjoyed the mythology episodes. I enjoyed the standalone episodes as well, but the mythology ones always stood out for me. Now, it's the other way around. It's obvious that the mythology ones are way too stretched out. Too many cases of making it convoluted simply for the sake of making it convoluted. There was no effort to really wrap it up even recently. Look at the last movie and the last several seasons. Carter just wants this thing to keep going on and on. He doesn't want a resolution.

I agree this may well be the last season with lower ratings and Anderson reportedly leaving. However, I'm not expecting a nice wrap up. Carter seems incapable of it. So, I'm mainly just enjoying the standalone episodes and the chance to see Mulder and Scully several more times. The CSM, etc has just been over wrought. And, unless both actors are back for another season, I hope this is it.

Exactly. It makes no sense now. It's like they're trying to make up for something.

Frankly though, could have done without the Plus One gibberish bed talk. It made no sense O_o.

The organ-eater cult just made me uncomfortable for some reason. But hey, we don't watch this show for flowers and puppies. I liked ninja-girl, however improbable she was.

Yeah she felt like something from another show...

So the ending... when Skully asked "are we together?" I gasped thinking we are getting an answer. But... of course we'll never get that answer.

Wow, they are really going for the bizarre this season, first the AI one and now..... this.
Last night's has to be one of the weirdest episodes of the show I've ever seen. It's always been a bit weird, but this one just took things to a whole other level.

The comedy episodes are all weirder, no? This was pretty damn weird though, and as a second to last episode of the whole series (most likely)... UGH

Sure, but at least those are fun weird, this was just (IMO at least) WTFery from start to finish.

Yep it's a bad joke.

As for this ep, it was the first one in the entire series where I fast fowarded through part of it (the blood orgy baloney -- pass on that). And that includes Home.

Okay, that was gross and disturbing-- organ stealing, cultism, pseudo-vampirism, mad science, and cannibalism, all juxtaposed with faux classic TV and a real-life inspirational ballad. Oh, and all the Catholic imagery. Not much backstory there, almost as if the writer transcribed one of their nightmares directly into the script. I did like the vintage 1890s apartment building that had been modified so that the residents could come and go without ever seeing the light of day, or each other. Fox and Scully should probably look into everybody who lives there. :rommie:

Kind of a sad ending, too, with the mom crying over Crusader Girl and ignoring Cult Girl-- easy to see why she joined a cult.

And what did Scully whisper to Mulder....?

We'll have to imagine that ourselves. As it's supposedly between M and S (David and Gillian). I kind of find that kind of thing to be a cop-out on shows that do this kind of thing.

Well...that was weird and gross. Always good to see Jere Burns but that's the extent of overall impression of the episode.

It was a nice juxtaposition to how she was before: Weeping over Cult Girl and ignoring Crusader Girl. I guess the take away is just took comfort in her sorrow instead of focusing on the good that she had.

The same thing Bill Murray whispered into Scarlett Johansson's ear in Lost in Translation. ;)

And that's been said on Tumblr and on Twitter!

Frankly though, I find it to be annoying, more than anything else. Leaving things ambiguous at this point makes me want to scream. Maybe not completely ambiguous, but still I've had enough of their games.
