oh shit it's like that damn dress again, innit?

I hope they keep the moving antennae from Enterprise. That was a nice effect.
Maybe bring back Jeffrey Combs as Shran the III.
I just like Jeffrey Combs. For what? Somebody else (maybe a newcomer) should be cast as this Andorian officer.
I'd rather see a Muslim or Jewish or Transgender character, to be perfectly honest.
Do we have to drag religion into this?

I really hope that humans within hundreds of years will overcome religion, an atheistic or agnostic society. there are very religious aliens like Klingons that can be the religious reference and that clashes with the lack of belief in deities that humans haveStar Trek is about us. Religion is just as much part of humanity as race, gender and sexuality. Whether anyone likes it or not.
my problem is that I'm starting to have a dislike in seeing humans all the time, it's as if I saw movies where there are only white people! For a show that supposedly made its mark based on its diversity, many Star Trek fans seem squeamish about it. They constantly promote that gays and transgender folks are "fixed" in the future. Don't want the series to tackle issues of race or religion.
Star Trek was a mirror about what was going on in the world of the 1960's, from Hippies to Vietnam. If it wants to make its mark in the here and now, new versions need to tackle the problems of today, no matter how distasteful some folks find it.

That really isn't realistic. Religious beliefs have existed in some manner since the dawn of humanity, they aren't just going to wash away in the next two-to-three hundred years.I really hope that humans within hundreds of years will overcome religion, an atheistic or agnostic society.
the humans of the federation are tall that many of their religions are in reality inspired by aliens, I suppose that for many people in the future they would think that jesus or buddha were aliens. That really isn't realistic. Religion in Star Trek is one of the hot-button issues on Trek BBS that can completely derail the threads it's brought up in, along with military and money.but that has nothing to do with the topic!
Starfleet is money. There, I said it!along with military and money.
