Oh right, on topic. Do Andorian customs allow a collection plate be passed around during religious services officiated by a military chaplain?

Context is required here. Network execs were nervous about Spock being a regular cast member, let alone other species, and budget constraints, as well as attitudes were much different in the 60s. So before you condemn TOS, it has to be viewed thru the lense of context and history, a fact lost in discussions about past diversity, this also includes Star Wars. The phrase. It was a different time was invented for a reason. Becase, IT WAS A DIFFERENT TIME, AND DIFFERENT VALUE SET, wrong or right, judging things by today's standards is wrong, when not taking into account context and attitudes of the day.
I think it was more a condemnation of Discovery. That it still hasn't advanced beyond that very basic diversity first shown in TOS.

The humans that are shown are not even a reflection of real universe humanity. If you never read the novels you would think the only region left on Earth is North America. ( I know its an American tv show and reflects that) but what is the in universe reason for a so called galactic military/exploratory force dominated by North Americans during the DISCO/TOS era?
It is my personal opinion I like the federation and the different peoples that make up the federation! that's why I want to see more of other races of the federation and not just human beings! I also want to know more about the other founding races, the tellarites should also be important!

The systematic collapse and mass die off of the various third world countries after WWIII probably has something to do with that.
There isn't proof of that.
Only 600 million, out of a population of probably ten billion died out per First Contact. Spock only mentions 37 million in "Bread and Circuses". The war was with China (ECON), so even if you knocked out China, 600 million isn't even half of its current population. So, no, that isn't it.
American writers created an American show, which is a reason, up to a point. Discovery is really disappointing on this count, as it is pointed directly at international audiences.
Context isn't "required." Context is for fucking KINGS.
I don't see the disappointment. STD is a show created by Americans, written by Americans, and produced and filmed in America. International audience are smart enough to understand the realities and limitations of television productions.

I think you've hammered the point home that you really really like to see more aliens.
What a racist concept! Maybe the rest of the world told the Western humans screw you all, and moved to Alpha Centuri.
