Likeable people are not one note. They're people.because it's very one note.
Stories have likeable and unlikable people in them.

It's the same thing.It's not a holodeck.

People watching is great. More fun than watching a show you don't like! Hint. Hint.Because we could be watching people we like instead.
One thing is for sure, you'll know where you stand with him!I find Lorca the most likable of the bunch, so... ;-)
Why? Because TNG didn't get the continuity right? This is a reasonable argument to 'explain away' the contradiction, but it just seems to me like holodecks shouldn't have been in this show.
Is extreme the opposite of logic?Isn't 'logic extremist' an oxymoron? It's like saying 'Unitarian Jihad' or 'Libertarian police state'.
Perhaps its that version of the technology they are experiencing for the first time? Like seeing a 3-D film for the first time? Can you imagine what someone from 1917 would think after seeing a film in full color with sound, CGI and 3-D on an IMAX screen for the first time? Sure they've seen movies but not like that.Didn't know that, but in Encounter at Farpoint they sure seemed like they are experiencing this for the first time.
I would like at least one likeable character .. please one. Someone to care about - sigh.I frankly find likeable characters kinda boring. I like characters like Lorca and Saru. They keep me engaged.

Seriously, how long does it take to kill 150 kilingons?
10 minutes?
####.
No wonder the Federation is doing so badly if they are underestimating Klingon strategy this racistly.
Although, maybe target holodummies were modelled after four year old child soldiers, because that's how Klingons roll?
A few questions?Seriously, how long does it take to kill 150 kilingons?
Michael is really growing on me. In the first two parts, I think her characterization was off. Since then, she's become much relatable. Tilly, Stamets, and Saru are all eminently likeable. I'd add Tyler to that category too . . . but given the theory about him I'm not too sure!I would like at least one likeable character .. please one. Someone to care about - sigh.![]()
I like that game! It's awesome to watch each episode and play the "guess which scene is going to make everyone go shithouse" game.
Immediately, it was the holosimulation this week.
Sometimes the game is too easy.
It's not a contradiction that needs to be explained away. Nowhere in Encounter at Farpoint did they say that holodecks were brand new. Riker simply says that he is surprised at how real the simulation is.This is a reasonable argument to 'explain away' the contradiction, but it just seems to me like holodecks shouldn't have been in this show.

This whole "No holodecks before TNG" thing is the same as "Spock was the only Vulcan in Starfleet".
