No, even better:If Captain Lorca goes by the end of the season maybe they will get John Sheridan as the new captain! Hey it worked for Babylon 5! LOL
Saru: "Welcome Captain, I look forward to working with with you. How do you wished to be addressed? Captain Garth, or Captain Izar?"
Garth: "I PREFER LORD....er, um I mean, yes, Captain Garth will be fine."
Saru: [Thinking as his Threat ganglia tingle wildly]: "Oh please...NOT AGAIN!"
I think he DID send her intentionally.
However, it gets some play here actually as it's clear Starfleet is considered a "step down" for most Vulcans.
He wasn't in a hurry to save her either. He did become a bad guy in the last episode already. But I really don't think he intentionally send Cornwell to be captured. He, just like everybody else was surprised by the Klingons' sudden but inevitable betrayal. If anything, he came across much more likeable here than ever before, a damaged man who is trying to act tough to conceal how fucked up he really is, rather than the edgy badass jerk he was portrayed as in the previous episodes.
Off the top of my head:Tell me five shows that are so much better than Discovery that you are watching right now?
I don't think it's fair to compare Discovery to the other Star Trek we love, because those are among the best sci-fi shows ever. Even if Discovery turned out the be my least favorite Star Trek show, it could still be among my top 15 favorite TV show ever. So I'm wondering what else do you watch that is so much greater than Discovery at the moment? I'm watching Got, The Orville, sometimes Marvels, etc, but then after a few shows I begin to struggle to find better shows. So, I'm wondering what Sci-fi TV shows (good luck!!) or what TV shows do you watch at the moment that are so much better than Discovery?
So we think. But this time (unlike with Sarek) they know exactly where she is being held, and that she's under heavy guard by the Klingons. If Discovery goes in with guns blazing, there's the chance the ship could be captured and its technology taken. He wasn't in a hurry to save her either.
He wasn't and that is the open ended part. Was it because he didn't want her to get saved, or because he actually had listened her and tried not to be such a loose cannon? He wasn't in a hurry to save her either.
Also not buying the Vulcans being such dicks. Logic and IDIC don't support being racist assholes. Yes, I know it was done in other Treks, but I didn't like it any better there, especially in DS9 and then ENT. There's no logic in judging other races based on Vulcan norms. Basically, I'm not seeing much difference between them and Romulans other than the mind meld/pon farr stuff and the emphasis on logic.
Vulcans started being dicks with Spock's first scene in WNMHGB. And they've always judged human and other non-Vulcans by Vulcan standards.Nope, never watched them. No idea why I would want to watch them.![]()
Nice list of shows but only The Expanse is a sci-fi drama. The others are just ordinary dramas (I'm not sure abotu mr. Robot). I only agree with you with Game of Thrones and it's not sci-fi either. I never saw Mr. Robot, Man in Castle, Rectify and Narcos, i'm not so much into ordinary non sci-fi drama but I didn't like and don't watch anymore The Expanse, House of cards. On the other hand I think The Americans is great, possibly as good as any Star Trek but with less replay values.Off the top of my head:
Mr Robot
The Expanse
Man in the High Castle
Better Call Saul
Game of Thrones
House of Cards
Rectify
Narcos
There are many more.
When I said this day and age, I'm talking about the past 10 years so, which IMO is a new golden age of television. The shows listed above are just some of the active ones. I could start listing off Breaking Bad and others that have ended but are contemporary shows that have come out in the past 10 years.
STD's writing can't hold a candle to the well written dramas of today. Hopefully they turn things around.
I love that it could be taken either way.I think he DID send her intentionally.
What I like about this is that the writers made this ambiguity part of the show by having Saru directly talking about it with Lorca. One my fav part of the episode. Then they end the episode showing the phaser on his belt (recalling what happened earlier) in an ominous way. Beautiful. He wasn't and that is the open ended part. Was it because he didn't want her to get saved, or because he actually had listened her and tried not to be such a loose cannon?
Ever see Spock run?Enjoyed it! But jumping jackrabbits that first mind meld scene was cheesy! How weird does Burnham run btw?
He probably made a suggestion. How did Lorca send Cornwell on the mission?
