The fact that CBS hasn’t released any info about the identity of the actor that portrays Voq (one of the main characters of the show) makes this rumor: PLAUSIBLE!
I agree.
Remember guys, Burnham and Ash Tyler reportedly get to bang, which adds loads of "complexity," considering Burnham killed Voq's mentor, and Voq ate Burnham's mentor.
My guess is that Voq/Ash "goes native" to a certain extent in his new role as an undercover operative, because it's a more interesting story if he develops genuine feelings for Burnham which clash with his desire for revenge.
We should have a better idea if this is true if there is a substantial "time jump" at the start of the next episode. Infecting Voq with the augment virus wouldn't take long at all, but training him to pass for a Starfleet officer would. Of course, we have no idea if the Klingon scenes we saw in the last episode were actually supposed to be 100% contemporaneous with the Discovery scenes.

They were because they were floating in space six months and that was how long Michael was imprisoned.
There's also the "Hobbes" option where Voq has memories downloaded into his brain and becomes a Manchurian Agent, but that's arguably the least interesting option.

I think it's very plausible! And would certainly explain a few things...Not sure how I would feel about it though? ! I feel it's a bit disingenuous to have a character introduced to the audience as having suffered torture and imprisonment in a war setting, to be suffering from PTSD as I believe Shazad explained it - only for it then to be revealed as a lie?For me that 'twist' entirely undermines the emotional attachment the audience has, hopefully, made with the character (Which I guess may be the point) and undermines any interesting or provocative issues that his story/struggles may have raised...Story should surely be driven by character alone, not be the need to merely surprise or shock? No...I'm not a fan of the idea I have to say...It's bait and switch storytelling to me...Also on a practical note...If he is a baddie...There are going to be no bloody main cast members left by the end of the first season! I suspect Lorca is going to go out in blaze of phaser fire and if Tyler is an Klingon I can't seeing him making the cut for season two! We're going to be left with only Burnham and Saru at this rate...'The Odd Couple!' running the ship!

Voq's actor is a relative unknown named Javid Iqbal; he's been listed in the end credits for all 3 of the episodes in which he's appeared: The Vulcan Hello, Battle at the Binary Stars, and The Butcher's Knife Cares Not for the Lamb's Cry.

It happens in productions if they want to hide something.
Since L'Rell said that Voq had to give up "everything" it follows that he wouldn't just be sacrificing his ridges, but his memories and identity as well.

- Lorca finds Tyler and Mudd when he’s kidnapped
- They escape
- Tyler joins Discovery as security chief
- Tyler and Burnham become kindred spirits
- They sleep together
- Tilly discovers Tyler’s identity (we’ve already established that Tilly is very good at observation)
- Tyler kills or severely injures Tilly
- Burnham is forced to either out or kill Tyler/Voq, saving the crew
- At some point, the spore drive, because of the damage it does to Ripper, causes Stamets to abandon the project, angering Lorca
- At some point, Saru’s lack of a combat sense will put him in a place where he has to step down as first officer
- At the same time, Burnham is continuing to prove herself to the crew and Lorca leading him to make a case to Starfleet to reinstate her commission
- She then becomes first officer
- The crew is faced with a similar situation with the Klingons that happened aboard Shenzhou but both Lorca and Burnham are able to work together to find the solution, ending the war
- Lorca is either killed, arrested for war crimes or promoted out of the way to make room for Burnham to take command of Discovery for season two
- Feeling uncertain of her own abilities and some issues with judgment with the Voq/Tyler situation, she asks Saru to stay aboard as her first officer
