I think TIlly might end up being a spy sent by Lorca to keep tabs on Burnham. I also think she might be Section 31 and undercover.

Just a theory - the series ends when the sporedrive goes nuclear, it's never used again, all evidence of it and the people involved in it gets classified, which is why we never hear anything ever again.

Meanwhile, 100+ years later, Janeway accidentally uncovers a holodeck simulation about sporedrive that s,31 forgot to classify and mutters "shucks!".

Ash Tyler (who we know will be a "prisoner" alongside Lorca and Mudd) will actually be a deep cover "augment" Klingon operative. He might even be Voq himself altered by the virus.

Further, we'll discover that the original Klingon "augments" were hidden away during this time period, and something will happen to make the human-type much more widespread. Perhaps the ridged with hair type will end up being a hybrid between these two forms?

I'm more and more thinking that Discovery is really about a Section 31 experiential ship. NCC-1031 is a MAJOR hint.

Since the producers have said that few major characters are "safe". I'm guessing that Michael Burnham will eventually become Captain of the Discovery.

I'm also thinking that the series may end with Burnham realizing how dangerous the technology on Discovery really is. She may (and crew?) may disappear with the ship. Maybe giving the appearance of it being destroyed.

This would solve the major problem of Spock, Sarek and Amanda never mentioning his adoptive sister . By the time of TOS, she would have been presumed MIA or dead. With no logical reason to talk about her.

Heck, how long in the TOS era did it take for Kirk and McCoy to find out who Spock's parents were.

Considering how hard they're trying to make it GOT in space, I expect more major characters to be randomly killed off.

After next week's preview, strongly feel Mudd goes to work for Lorca, doing bad stuff.

I think Burnham will find out her former captain and friend was eaten and will want to kill Voq. Also I think Saru will kill Lorca or someone this year even if it is something that goes against his nature because it has to be done.

Someone mentioned that the entire series takes place in the Mirror Universe... That's actually pretty clever, and I could totally see that as being a thing.

I don't think it's the mirror universe that we saw in the other shows but just another alternate universe in a infinity of alternate universes that exist at the same time as the prime universe. Chances are though they will simply call it a mirror universe, if it is true, for simplicity and to not get to confusing for new fans.

Similar to what others have said, this is taking place in an alternate universe (but not the mirror universe, it doesn't fit). The fungus drive eventually (and accidentally) takes them to the prime universe. That is the reason why 1) this show doesn't see to fit with the prime universe; and 2) the show's producers ask for patience in that the prime universe connection will eventually make sense and all apparent canon contradictions will be explained.

If by revive her you mean eat her, well you'd be correct.

Of course I have the advantage of hindsight. :bolian:

I'd lose my mind from awesomeness if the Writers pulled some "Q Squared" insanity and multiple timelines intersected because of the Shroomdrive.

I'm not sure how I feel about it. I guess it would end speculation about Georgiou returning. I understand that the Klingons were starving and there's precedent for the Klingons eating their enemy, but I guess part of me wished they didn't go there.

Harry Mudd will kill some dude named Leo Walsh and steal his identity.

The "be prepared to lose everything" that Voq faces includes losing his head bumps.

The season will end with a Blake's Seven.

    Weaponized tribbles.

It already did. In Frank Herbert’s Dune (1965). You just have to replace spice with mushroom and the Guild Navigators with the Tardigrade. ;)
