Twin Peaks Season 3 (Revival) Discussion / Spoilers

I loved this week's episode., it was probably my favourite of the season. Cherry pie actually managed to save Coop's life via funky dream fun, and it felt a bit like old school Twin Peaks. I also think having him led to his boss's office by dangling coffee infront of him was funny as hell.

So, is the Dougie story heading for resolution of some sort now that we've seen the outcome of his influence on the gangster brothers and the lady from Vegas? We've already seen by last week how his home life has changed for the better. Of course it could all just mean that Coop is doomed to stay as Dougie for the rest of his life, though by this point I'm beginning to wonder if it would be such a terrible thing?

How could I forget Gordon Cole's insightful ''He's dead!' after William Hasting's head exploded? We saw woodsmen again, and there was also the weirdness with, well, whatever Cole saw in the sky. Didn't Diane see what was really going on as well? It's interesting because I'm sure I remember her feeling Evil Coop's presence a few episodes back. What does it mean? Probably a hearty fuck you to everyone.

Does any character from the original series have socially functional offspring besides Lucy? The rest is psychopaths and drug addicts.

Also, who was that Shelly was kissing? Was that magic trick guy?

So I guess we know why Shelly ditched Bobby, he became a fully functioning adult and thus she no longer found him attractive.

I'm wondering if this whole Douggie business is Lynch satirizing the fan base.

What has Douggie been doing so far? Walking around behaving strangely and randomly and pursuing comfort foods, and everybody sees exactly what they want to see in him. Could that be Lynch's commentary on how the fans view the show?

He's been reading fan analysis of the show for 25 years and everybody interprets it in the light of whatever critical trend they're current invested in.

I finally caught up and watched the whole show so far.

I'm sure in the next episode everything will finally make perfect sense, right?

...Lynch got me again.

This was the first episode to actually bore me. I've been looking forward to seeing Audrey again, but what the fuck was that all about?

^ Yeah, we basically went from one of the best episodes of the season last week to one of the worst episodes this week. :wtf:

Diane saying the words Let's Rock is forboding. Could Diane be possessed?

I now am more convinced Lynch is trolling the audience. Taking away our rosy imaginations of what happened to the characters after we left them, turning Audrey into an abusive gold digger. Reality asserting itself over the soap opera.

Lynch is trolling the audience, what else is new?

All that happened is that they finally explained the blue rose thing.

I was a bit distracted during this episode with bad news we had about a house we were hoping to move to.

I honestly thought I'd missed some important parts when I couldn't concentrate but I don't think I missed much. Audrey finally returns but she's a shrill gold digging wife acting nothing like how she used to? That was a bit much.

A dull episode, definitely.

I've been looking forward to seeing Audrey again, but what the fuck was that all about?

I think Billy is the guy whose truck it was that Richard was driving when he killed the little boy, who then talked to Andy and was supposed to meet him later on to tell him something but never showed up. So when Charlie was talking on the phone he probably heard all about what Audrey's son was currently up to but chose not to tell her.

I did like the ending. I know this was meant to be experimental and all. He's shown these characters in personal moments; sometimes interesting, sometimes not.

It was meant to be an 18 hour movie, but I'm wondering if he really thought it all through? Christ's sake, we've got 5 episodes left and mt avatar is still a vegetable. Is there going to be an ANSWER or at least a resolution?

I do enjoy the manipulativeness of his style but the viewer needs some pay off to retain interest

I think it was excusable at the beginning but after waiting for Kyle's credits to pop up at the end and think "what does this have to do with anything?" is getting boring.

I had assumed this was the finale for Twin Peaks.. If they leave it open ended, okay, But It was touted as a limited series. Whatever Lynch has in store for the remainder, knock it out of the ballpark!

Got to give Lynch credit for messing with people. What do we want to see? Cooper? What does he keep give us?
