So dragonglass can be melted by dragonfire which gives us some extra proof that it is an ingredient for Valyrian steel though I think that Valyrian steel must be a bit more complicated than just steel + dragonglass as the Targaryens were unable to make it after the Doom of Valyria. If Valyrian Steel is to be forge than Sam must find more info or else the secret lies with Gendry. I wonder if the book fact that Gendry has a touch of Targaryen blood will ever be brought up in the show?

The one thing that stands out to me is "considered dragon glass a cure for..." A cure for what? Perhaps Greyscale?
I'm curious about some of the wording in the first page, particularly:
"candles and amulets..." - a reference to self-lighting dragonglass candles - FINALLY! And amulets too, eh? Intriguing...
And a clear safety valve for Jorah: "considered dragon glass as a cure for..." and "...little harm incurs from the ingestion..." I believe this to be a reference as a potential cure for greyscale.

Arya has yet to kill someone with green eyes (such as Cersei) and to meet Melisandre again.

Although you caught the dragonglass candles. I guess I was too caught up by the other reference to notice.
Imagine the season 7 ending, where Cersei is standing on the map of Westeros, drinking from her cup of Arbor Gold wine smiling over her surprise victory over Daenerys in the last battle and then suddenly having her throat slited from behind by Arya wearing Ed Sheeran's face.
I'm imagining the nerd rage...

I remember that I studied screen captures of the book of the genealogy of the Families that Ned read, to see if Robert's grandmother was listed. Unfortunately she wasn't . I thought it might be because Robert's father, Steffon, was still dark of hair despite the fact that Steffon's mother was a Targaryen. I believe that that would have shown just how strong the Baratheon trait for dark hair is.
I don't think it's specifically a Baratheon trait, particularly considering Jon's lineage and dark hair. It sounds like a general genetic rule in this world. Or perhaps the opposite, that Targaryen silver hair is a super-recessive gene (if there is such a thing) and is constantly being overwritten by other hair color markers.
Hereditary physical traits are an important part of the setting. The Baratheons were famous for their pitch black hair and blue eyes, the Targaryens of course for their silver-gold hair and violet eyes, the Starks for their dark hair (more dark brown than black) and grey eyes, the Tullys for their red hair, etc. That's why it was important that Jon looked more like a Stark than most of Ned's other children.
Two brief reunions for Arya. Both made me tear up a little.

2/3 Sand Snakes dead, YAAYYY!
These ravens are basically flying at the speed of plot now.
One of the guys Arya overhears at the inn sounded uncannily like the guy who voiced Blackwall in Dragon Age Inquisition (and a bunch of characters in Witcher 3) but no, not the same guy.

Damn, things are really moving fast now in the final seasons. That war room scene at Dragonstone was packed with fascinating characters. I can only imagine that such a scene (if it actually takes place) in one of the upcoming books will be all the more engrossing and allowing for each of the characters to expand on their presence there. In fact, everything in this episode left me excited about reading the expanded depictions in the books. Assuming we ever get them.
Audacious plan on Tyrion and Daenerys' part. A damn shame Euron had to get in the way. I was really looking forward to finally seeing Casterly Rock.
Sad to see the Sand Snakes killed off, although I suppose there's a chance that Tyene and Ellaria are still alive after...
Sorry that Theon reverted back to his cowardice at his sister's greatest need. I'm surprised Euron didn't kill her right there and then, although was that suppose to be her hanging from the bow? I couldn't tell because the effects were so dark.
Cersei's silver tongue continues to get heavier although I suspect some people aren't completely buying her exaggerated claims.
How sweet to see Grey Worm and Missandei taking a moment to comfort and pleasure each other on the eve of his departure. Hm, speaking of which...I hope he didn't die during Euron's attack.
Good on Sam to try to save Jorah even when the Archmaester had given up and cast aside the forbidden technique, although I'm surprised that the method that Sam discovered wasn't the alluded dragonglass cure we talked about after last week's episode. Maybe that will come to play later?
Coming back to the beginning, I really loved the heavy exchange of words between Daenerys and Varys about his loyalties. Poor Tyrion kept trying to defend his friend and kept getting railroaded. Also love Daenerys' put down on Varys after he called out Melisandre's past allegiances.

Very sweet indeed, although I was sad that Nymeria didn't stay with Arya. And it looks like she's heading to an even bigger reunion, if only with Sansa. Who knows if she'll ever get to see Jon Snow.
