I'm about to make myself real unpopular, but somebody's gotta say it:
It was in the first couple years after Gene's death that we got the first hints in biographies/autobiographies about his, um... issues with certain women over the years. If Gene lived longer, Shatner likely would've kept it out of his Star Trek Memories book. But sooner or later in the 90's, somebody would have broken their silence. And Gene would have had to publicly deal with that, and its impact on his legacy, in his last years. Something to think about.
