There's a book out there called "The Fifty-Year Mission: The Next 25 Years" which deals with Next Generation forward. It's basically talking about the show from the point of views from the cast and crew. While I only read a little bit of it, it describes a scene of nightmare, behind the scenes, in regards to Roddenberry.
One of the things it describes is Gene's paranoia over losing control over the show. Several mentions of his lawyer rewriting scripts and wanting to sex up scenes.
