Had to look it up to be sure, but I knew this episode was directed by Greg Nicotero, his fingerprints were all over it and I loved it.
What?! Sasha dies?! I
totally didn't see that coming! [/sc]
I thought it was a pretty good episode and it pretty much went they way I thought it would with the same beats though there were a couple surprises in there. Quite a few parallels to stuff from the comics (Michonne's fight with a Scavenger, the stuff with Sasha's death reveal.)
Interested to see where next season goes and how it handled the "war" which I suspect will be wrapped up by the mid-season finale.
Was disappointed the Judas/Jadis thing turned out to be true it struck me as too on the nose and there seemed to be more set-up for Gregory being the one who was the "little birdie." It's a shame because I actually like Jadis, find he kind of funny and interesting. She asked for a three-way with Rick and Michonne, how could you not like her?

I wonder when/how/if they'll return and what side they'll be on, maybe they'll realize The Saviors aren't the right ones to be on the side of.
Ah, more superficial gunshot wounds.
Was expecting to see more from Dwight's end of his betrayal/aligning with Alexandria.
So, where
is Gregory?
I liked Maggie's little monologue at the end and the connections with Glenn, the first episode, and Herschel's watch.
Awesome moment with Shiva and the arrival of The Kingdom soon followed by The Hilltop.
Good finale, did have fist-pumping awesome, cheering moments and was quite the bleak downer the end of last season was and also not a cold cliff-hanger which I'm sure they learned their lesson on after last year.
So, Eugene really has gone fully to the Dark Side, huh?
I'm surprised Negan so "easily" allowed Sasha to ride in the casket all the way to Alexandria rather than getting in it shortly before arriving, certainly even
he would have assumed she wouldn't have enough air in there to breathe for the entire trip to Alexandria. (Which, 2 hours by truck means it's probably the greater part 150 miles away from Alexandria depending on how much leeway we want to give them on the speed of the vehicles, if they're governed, and how easily they can travel on raods that've not been maintained in 3-4 years.
Didn't believe for a moment Carl was going to die/Rick was going to lose his hand(s) I knew a contrivance was going to save him like it did at Terminus. Rick: The only thing that saves me are loyal tigers and miraculously aimed bottle rockets.
The Scavengers travel by the most practical vehicle in an apocalypse (a bicycle) and the least practical (a garbage truck) that somehow seems to fit.
Good episode, already starting to see the hate float around on social media, oh, Internet. But I liked it some good moments, well directed with the cuts between Sasha in the casket, the dream/past sequence with her and Abraham, the "current" events, and the dream sequence with her and Maggie looking out into the sun-set. (Which actually seemed sort-of out of place and like the one series of shots that didn't seem to fit other than as an artistic showcase that both of these women lost the man they love at the start of the season.)
Let's get ready for war!
