Spoilers DC's Legends of Tomorrow - Season 2

There's also the fact that they're constantly risking her life, or risking an alteration to her future by, say, having her fall in love with Nate instead of whoever she's supposed to marry in order for Mari to exist.

.

Who's to say that Nate isn't the father? I mean, OG Vixen and Nick didn't have access to birth control the first time they did it, so that might be an issue. Also, even though 1942 seems very early for birthing Mari's mother...maybe she birthed her Father, who fathered Mari very late in life? Did they say for sure that the original Vixen was Mari's maternal grandmother?

Also, just wondering -- would Dinosaurs survive a mild winter like we were shown in this episode? I would think it would be bad for them, being cold-blooded and all. But this being Legends...I don't think too hard on this.

And for Rip kissing Gideon -- why is the only love portrayed as romantic love? I suppose it makes sense considering things like the Humans TV show and current culture battles...but kinda disappointing.

Oh yeah -- and the shuttle??? Yeesh. Again, it's Legends, so I can't get to hung up on all these mistakes. (And not to bring the other threads into this -- but if we can accept this, how can we not not accept an Earth 1 / Earth 38 merger should it happen. No more confusing than Legends history)

^It's actually an open debate regarding if dinosaurs were warm-blooded, cold-blooded, or something inbetween.

^I'm sure Sara will jump into that relationship at some point. Rip, Gideon, and Sara should all be married. They can all be co-captains too.

There's no saying they return Vixen to 1942 either. Courtney made it seem like Vixen never returned to the JSA. I am guessing Vixen had her daughter around 1960. Mari was in her early to mid 20s when her web series premiered, putting her birth in the early 1990s.

How do we know that Nate isn't Mari's grandfather?

That definitely would fix the math... but still not sure how that would work. or even now, isn't her absence from Zambesi a problem? Isn't the point of her powers to protect her village?

Indeed --- though extremely awkward, where his granddaughter is the same age (or older?)... and what would his grandfather say....

Last night I was actually entertaining the idea that Nate could father a child with Amaya - and that he could very well be Mari/Vixen's biological grandfather. But no one (not even the writers) seems to want to acknowledge Vixen's family history. Ray told Nate it probably wasn't a good idea to date Amaya because of possible consequences to the timeline. But does Ray or any of the Legends know who Vixen's grandfather is at this point? It almost begs the question that if Nate does the research and asks Gideon about Vixen's parentage and ancestry, and it turns out that he is Vixen's grandfather, then what's stopping him from pursuing a relationship with Amaya?

EDIT:

As for who's leaving the show, last year we saw the two Hawks leave the show; this season could mean the departure of Nate and Amaya as well.

If Nate is Vixen's grandfather, why would you assume that he and Amaya will leave the show this year, just as the two Hawks did last year?

Pretty much. As far as I know, a T-Rex was sort of like a big chicken?
I was more disappointed that Gertrud didn't have feathers.
When will we finally start making dinosaur movies with feathers?

When will we finally start making dinosaur movies with feathers?

I saw a trailer for one a year or two ago -- I think it was a young-adult movie about some time warp/pocket universe that brought things and people from different eras together. I recall there actually being a line implicitly making fun of the lack of feathered dinosaurs in other productions. But I don't remember ever hearing about the movie again after that, and I can't remember what its name was.

I kinda want a Jurassic Ray show now.

Also, the parallels between Rip Hunter and the Doctor are deepened with Rip having romantic feelings towards the humanoid form of his time ship.

It was cool that Amy Pemberton got to do an on-camera role for a change -- and she is really hot -- though it was a bit weird that Rip made out with his ship. That's two shows in the past year that have contrived a way to give an on-camera guest spot to their spaceship computer voice actress -- Killjoys did it last season by having Lucy download an emulation of her mind into an android. I think she also made out with the male crew member she was closest to. What is it with guys and their rides?

I guess Rip was influenced by his past life as Rory watching the Doctor go just short of making out with his Tardis (Idris).

Ok, was there any vaguely good reason for Ray to NOT take his suit with him?

Am I the only person who likes Rip? Glad to have him back. Very glad they didn't make it easy.

Surprised they didn't bring back Savage for that episode. If anyone lives in Hunter's head, it's Vandal.

Shuttle? SHUTTLE? What the hell, people?

Because he had months' worth of survival skills in that environment that he developed without the suit, so he figured the suit would just get in the way. There is a certain logic to it.

Yeah, but they pretty much admitted back in the '60s Hollywood episode that the actor had been disappointing in the role. Storywise, it would've made sense to bring Savage back, but from a real-world perspective, it's not at all surprising that they didn't choose to bring Caspar Crump back (and he might not have been available anyway).

Plus, this was clearly a money-saving bottle show, taking place mostly on standing sets and featuring exactly zero guest actors. It was designed to use only the core cast.

If he used his suit more, maybe I could buy it. It felt like a combination of "we can't solve our dinosaur problem that easily" and "it costs money to show --- well, ANYBODY." (At least we got to see Firestorm. Remember him?)

What an amazing age we live in where a "money-saving" episode features a freaking CGI DINOSAUR!

Does anyone think "Gerty" sounds like "Grumpy" on purpose?

It's a flying suit. He flies out to the power core, picks it up and flies back. Could have been done in 10 minutes instead of hiking through the woods overnight.
