Hemsworth confirms that he is in ST4

But Abrams is smart. JJ is expert in time travel stories.
1) Do we know for certain Abrams is involved in this movie and that he has input into the story?
2) In what way is he an "expert" in time travel stories? IIRC, Trek XI is the only time he's dabbled in time travel, and even then he was just the director and had no involvement actually crafting the story.

"expert". Ok. I exaggerated, but he likes time travel or mirror universe. Example:
Lost.
Alcatraz
Fringe
11.22.63 is based on Stephen King's bestselling novel

In most of those examples, doesn't he usually have Orci or Lindelof involved? I'd say they're the ones who like time travel or alternate universes.

What a world we live in; Beyond gets good reviews and makes over $300 at the box office and yet it's still considered unsuccessful in some quarters.

In all fairness, a movie making $300 at the box office would normally be considered unsuccessful.

Do we KNOW that it will involve time travel? Could it be an interactive hologram or something similar?

George could simply have "fallen forward" through the rift in space time and emerged somewhere on the new Enterprise's path. No time travel in the typical sense, no need to age the actor and lots of options for storytelling.

Hemsworth could simply be playing Kirk's brother, Peter Kirk. Some sons look uncannily like their fathers. (I'm gonna remember this post and we'll see if I'm right ;))

Apologies if previously discussed: maybe George Kirk is brought back through a Kelvinsverse Genesis device, rather than by time travel as such.

Not that it's required, but there's a Prime Universe precedent there...

Peter was Kirk's nephew. I think you mean George Samuel Kirk, Jim's brother and Peter's dad. He's already been in an IDW comic showing the alternate reality version of the neural parasite attack. (I know, I know, hardly anyone who wtaches the film reads the comics, as I've been told before. But these comics, unlike others, are made very closely in conjunction with the films.)

^^Wouldn't that require there to be remains of George Kirk around?

Technically it would - but being the Kelvinverse / timeline, perhaps a Genesis device might have been developed further away from its Prime equivalent, in an even more advanced way... etc.

I got nothing really - just speculation.
