I'm not buying the Mara Jade rumours for a second. I'm honestly a little surprised so many are; you'd think basic pattern recognition would have set in by now.

Well, abandoning his wife and child would be in line with the No Attachments deal. Remember, Jedi are not celibate, they can have sex. They're just not allowed to love the person they have sex with.

Not exactly. It's not that they're forbidden to love at all, it's that they're forbidden from holding onto any one person (or persons) above and potentially at the expense of all others.

That's what they mean by attachments; a person and/or thing you cannot let go of.

A prime example of this is Obi-Wan and Satine. They loved each other just as deeply as Anakin and Padme loved each other. The difference was that they both respected each others larger duties, and put them first, and did not allow their feelings to dictate their actions. Maul killed her beliving that Kenobi was attached and the loss would break him. He was wrong. When the moment came, Obi-Wan morned, and then let her go.

Since the 1983, I've always heard a continuation of Palpatine's scream in the sound mix when there's the blue whooshing up visual effect after his body exploded in the Death Star II's reactor shaft.

Accordingly, I believe that the premise that Palpatine's spirit survived the destruction of his body has been canonical all along.

And I believe Palpatine's physical body died and his energy returned to the cosmic force, annihilating his individuality in the process, just like everything else. Also that the thing on Exogol was a biological clone mapped with a memory imprint, captured by the Sith Throne, which is what it's there for. The reason the clones kept failing is just a side effect of trying to brute force a high M-count.

I don't care what anyone says; that's the only interpretation that actually fits into how Lucas described the mechanics of how the whole netherworld of the force thing works.

It's the same type of thinking that led to the belief of the PT bring rewritten, then the ST being rewritten etc.

I'm not either, if they were going to introduce her, they probably would have done it by now.
Personally, I always thought they should have brought her in in Rebels and basically switched out Luke for Kanan in her story arc.
I just find it hard to believe that the Luke we saw in The Last Jedi had ever been married, and I find it hard to believe Leia wouldn't have mentioned at some point that Luke had a Jedi ex-wife out there.

If they were going to spin it, I would think they never married. It be more along the lines of Obi-wan and Satine Kryze. Perhaps with unintentional child (some still speculate that Korkie is Obi's kid, since he does not seem to be Bo Katan's son, and we've not heard of any other siblings of the Kryze sisters).

I just find it hard to believe that the Luke we saw in The Last Jedi had ever been married, and I find it hard to believe Leia wouldn't have mentioned at some point that Luke had a Jedi ex-wife out there.

While I hope that isn't the plot they're going with, they could have been living at Luke's temple where he was training Ben and whoever else, and Luke assumed they died when Ben destroyed it.

If so, then Luke's behavior in 'The Last Jedi' suddenly makes a lot more sense. Especially with him blaming himself for Ben's turn, and if their relationship happened that late in his life. That would be enough to break almost anyone. Also why Leia wouldn't mention it to Rey - what would be the point if (far as she knows) they're both long dead? If Luke hadn't told her, was it really her place to?

My thinking was that Leia would have known that she was alive, and since Luke's ex-wife was a Jedi, whether she's Mara Jade or an original character, then she would have sent Rey out to find her to train her since she probably would have been more thoroughly trained that Leia was.

Well there is an amount of training and then there seems to be the Skywalker factor. Leia trained for a relatively short period of time, but was at least as skilled as Luke with a lightsaber when she stopped. Plus she's the one that trained Ray for about a year after Luke passed.
