Where is your confidence level now with ST:Dis?

So far, so good. Although, I still want to see the final, final version of the U.S.S. Discovery.;)

I'm still optimistic, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed when I learned about the time period in which it would take place, and again when I learned about what seems like heavy Klingon involvement. I'm a huge TNG fan but I pretty much always skip the boring Klingon episodes. The Star Trek plots that interest me least are those that revolve around war or Klingon politics, so hopefully we don't see much of either of those.

But, there is a LOT that we still don't know, which is why I remain optimistic.

I don't have issues with the Klingon involvement stuff. Could be interesting. Though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't more interested in the Andorians and Vulcans.

Still the same - awaiting something more substantial (a trailer) to cast any judgment. With the exception of Michelle Yeoh (whom I love), I do not know any of the other cast. Reserving judgment with some cautious optimism.

LOL I know this isn't exactly a popular opinion, given all the shit that CBS is taking online for their All Access model, but...yeah, totally agree.
Pretty much this. I can afford to not eat out once next year and spend six dollars to watch Star Trek, and catch up on all the other CBS stuff I've missed while in school. So, no loss, regardless of how DSC goes.

I feel really sorry for American subscribers, truly. As a Netflix subscriber who is non-USA, it's a shame the American audience is excluded from the Netflix distribution. I'm finding CBS' attempt at stream by demand television quite farcical.

If they brought Voyager back I'd be looking forward to it. It may be my least liked Trek show, but hey - more Trek, right ?

Discovery ? Of course...

I'm trying not to have too many expectations, or at least no specific expectations. Expectation is the heart of suffering...

"Expectation is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering. Suffering leads to.....other franchises.” – Yoda

Pretty much, alarm bells were ringing with the delays and Fuller's departure.

Glad we've got a casting announcement and presumably shooting will begin in the new year. Are they still aiming for a May premiere?
Don't know if it will stick, but so far it looks like the premire is still may.

It just seems like so long since the announcement that Star Trek was coming back to television, and since then there really hasn't been any news since then to build on that initial excitement. And with few details to feed it, excitement and confidence has drained away.

The only details I'm aware of are the Klingon angle, which I got really bored with on DS9, and that the show focuses on a character other than the captain, which is really not much to go on.

We shall see in May. Hopefully!

To be honest - I'm more excited now. For all the complaints about Fuller not being there and there being doom and gloom all over, it feels like more is happening now than has happened in the past year.

Still paying to watch the show. But, I'm neither excited nor really concerned. Whatever the final product is, it is out of my hands beyond consumption.

Meh, you're talking about five months from start of shooting to premiere. That should not be challenging.
