Stephen Amell and Caity Lotz seem so much more natural in the behind-the-scenes video. I actually thought there might be something wrong with Caity's jaw because it's always so clenched when she talks but I don't see that here.

I noticed the same with Ben McKenzie when he's not using his Gotham growl. Of course, there's precedent with actors in Batman stuff ill-advised growling.

    New trailer for the crossover:

Is that Speedy back in costume at 0:06-0:08, just in front of White Canary?

It's too dark to tell. It could be Speedy. It could also be Evelyn with her hood up.

Can someone explain the line about the aliens being like World War Z zombies? Is there something about those zombies that's different from your run-of-the-mill zombies?

World War Z zombies (in the movie version, at least) are extremely fast and can climb on top of each other to get over giant walls.

This should clear up that dilemma.

I posted his in the Flash thread, but it's probably most relevant here...

So, when the crossover finally hits, should we centralize the discussion in this thread, or spread it out in between the four individual show threads?

People will post wherever they post depending on what happens or how the story work's out. Will it be one big mashup spanning four shows? Or will there simply be a common thread that jumps from show to show? Either way, I'm thinking about watching all the episodes back to back in one block. The only thing stopping me is that I don't want to lag behind on the discussion.

We know that the Supergirl episode isn't really part of the crossover; it just has a scene at the end that sets up the 3-part crossover of the Earth-1 shows. And it sounds like Arrow's installment will be more focused on being Arrow's 100th episode than being part of the "Invasion!" crossover, though it will have elements of both. The characters will be participating in each others' shows -- we know that the casts of all four shows are in the Flash and Legends episodes, and at least Supergirl and the Flash are in the Arrow episode. But it won't be just a single undifferentiated story, it seems.

I usually rewatch the episodes later in the week anyway, at least some of them. I plan to watch the crossover episodes one per night and then rewatch them all back-to-back on the weekend.

Most likely already posted but i just laughed my ass off.. this was so fantastic, funny and amazing and it's TV!

How can DC fuck their major movies up so bad and still be able to come up with something like this? Marvel may rule the Superhero movies but TV belongs to DC. I am so stoked now for next week and i hope they don't screw it up in execution because the trailer seemed awesome (but then again i've been burnt many times by trailers when in reality the movie sucked).

That's actually the Superhero Fight Club 2.0, a non-canon web promo clip.
None of that will actually be in the crossover.
You can find the actual trailer and a sneak peek a couple of posts earlier in the thread.

Because it's not just DC, it's Warner Bros., and WB Television is a different production entity than the WB film studio. (Ditto Marvel's film and TV arms, which is why there's so little crossover between the two.) Also because movies are hugely more expensive and profitable and therefore subject to a lot more executive meddling and micromanaging. Also because tentpole movies are geared toward a different target audience, including an international audience, and big dumb mindless action movies are easier to translate for other cultures. Also because television is a writer-driven medium and Hollywood features are a director-driven medium, and the current generation of feature directors tends to come from a background that prioritizes visuals and style over story fundamentals. (Zack Snyder started out doing commercials, for instance.)

And it depends on the individuals involved as well. We're lucky that the Arrowverse and Supergirl came from people like Berlanti and Kreisberg and the like, people who really understand and love comics and approach them with respect. Without that, you end up with something like Gotham, a total mess created by people whose comments in interviews make it clear that they have no respect or understanding for comics as a medium.

The comcast xfinity description for Season 3 Ep. 8 seems to have been written by somebody who has never watched the show. "Barry asks Green Arrow for help when aliens attack Central City, but when they realize that won't be enough, they track down the Legends of Tomorrow so they can bring Supergirl in on the battle."

Ouch. They only invited the Legends because they thought it would somehow help them get Supergirl.
