Spoilers DC's Legends of Tomorrow - Season 2

Thanks, I hadn't seen him before. So does that mean he'll be a full time member of the team then? I thought he was just going to be one of the recurring JSA members.

I think the regular character is the grandson (?) of the JSA member, and he eventually takes on the original's code name, or something. So kinda like the Vixens in reverse.

Oh god, Star Girl is the only JSA member that looks remotely like she should. Steel looks atrocious, he just has some bland blue clothes with leather straps). Then, we have a Doctor Mid-nite that obviously isn't Charles McNider or even Pieter Cross. Would it have killed them to use the Beth Chapel version of Doctor Mid-Nite if they wanted a different Dr. Mid-Nite? Hell, why not use someone like the Michael Holt version of Mister Terrific (and I'm not talking about the fake semi-Michael Holt on Arrow) or Amazing-Man or Jakeem Thunder in Mid-Nite's place if they wanted a more diverse JSA? Actually, JJ Thunder and Amazing-Man's powers would probably be too expensive for this show. Even ignoring that, his costume also looks terrible. It looks like they just put some stuff they had in storage together, and made some cheap crescent shaped fasteners for it.

Obsidian's costume is so embarrassing that I think who ever designed it should legitimately be ashamed of themselves. At least with Steel and "Mid-Nite" its seems to be more laziness then ineptitude when it comes to the costume. Obsidian just looks like something someone made off of vague descriptions of the comic character and didn't give a damn if it looked any good. I can't even be hopeful that Obsidian means an old school Alan Scott and Jade could exist somewhere in the multiverse of the show, because he sucks so much I'd be terrified to see them try to use Alan Scott or Jade.

Also, why do all the JSA members except Star Girl look like they come from 1840 and not 1940? Or at least their costumes do (outside of Steel's plain clothes with stupid straps attire, I guess). I think that, after this, no one can give Smallville crap about its Doctor Fate costume ever again. Its like this JSA is just a bunch of cash strapped cosplayers who only had an hour to make their costumes from scratch. I've seen superhero serials from the 40s that had better costumes. Maybe someone at DC Comics could have lent the LoT people/Greg berlanti a few JSA comics, or at least sent them a link to the DC Wiki so they could see what the heroes actually look like. Heck, even a skype chat with Geoff Johns would have given them some good JSA background.

Based on the costumes and casting alone this looks unwatchable. It wasn't enough that Greg Berlanti and his friends have ruined/misused about 75% of the DC characters his shows touch (like Green Arrow, Huntress, Wildcat, Atom Smasher, Doctor Light, etc). Now, my favorite superhero team (just to be clear my favorite team is the JSA, not the LoT team) has fallen victim to the Berlanti curse. It looks like The Flash may be the last good superhero show on television at this point. At the very least, Legends of Tomorrow will be unwatchable when it has episodes with the Berlanti Society of America. Maybe it will eventually go past those insulting piles of garbage and put out some decent LoT stuff. I'll have to keep an eye on episode descriptions and skip the BSA episodes.

Actually, thinking about it, this is a time travel DC show. Maybe Extant will show up and demolish this BSA. That's probably wishful thinking, though. It just goes to show that I should never get excited for any Berlanti verse show that isn't The Flash. It will always end in frustration and disappointment. I really wish DC would just embargo him already, he's doing more harm then good with every new character he introduces that is only vaguely related to the actual DC hero.

Other than the cap, Dr. Mid-Nite's costume is a fair representation of comics version. Has a bit of a 30's/40's serial vibe.

 I think that if you removed the moon shaped fasteners and didn't label the pic no one would even suspect it was Doctor Mid-Nite. I don't know why the Berlanti shows sometimes really hate color, but even a darker red in the top would help, along with an actual cowl.

One could say the same about the comic's version, too. One might think he's a grown up Robin. Or perhaps a Red Robin. ;)

Just because Alex Ross got a bit lazy with a design in Kingdom Come (and then the costume was reused) doesn't mean Dr. Mid-Nite needs to change to not be similar to Red Robin, a character who doesn't even use that design anymore. It didn't effect the pre-reboot Doctor Mid-Nite, and really they're only similar if you've never heard of either character or aren't paying attention. Its not exactly a Tarantula/Sandman situation.

Not my point at all.

"Tarantula/Sandman". I got that reference. :techman:

The extended trailer for season 3 of DC's Legends of Tomorrow is out and it has new footage of the Justice Society, Jonah Hex, the new Vixen and more importantly Supergirl and The Flash!
