My comment wasn't directed at you. I said "we". Sorry if I came off like that. But, can I ask just what you expectations are for a Star Trek movie? Because I think this last one is a pretty good one.

Now that's something that never crossed my mind, but thinking back - I'm not sure it's out of the realm of possibility.

That is a good point. The relationship of the hierarchy between Krall and Manus was pretty vague, possibly deliberately so. Though, when Manus offered to stay behind and fight Jaylah and Kirk I felt it was more of a subordinate relationship of Manus allowing his leader to carry out the mission unhindered.

That's the impression I got as well.

If Krall was formerly the captain of the Franklin, then I assume Manus was under him.

He actually says to Krall 'You lead us this far.'

Interesting... I don't remember that, but there was much from Krall I found hard to understand.

The way I saw it was that Anderson Le/Manus was willingly buying time for his leader to accomplish their goal.

Can I ask a really oddball question here?

I haven't read thru all 63 pages of this thread, but it's possible nobody else has asked this-

Did anyone else notice that in quite a few scenes, Spock's hair just wasn't "right"? It looked like they had Quinto in the wrong size wig, or it was adjusted wrong, or something. Then they'd change the camera angle and you knew it was from a different day or something, because Spock's hair was perfect.

Am I the only one who noticed this? Please, someone else tell me you did too. I'm just sorry that it was so obvious. Didn't notice anything like this in the previous two films.

He was in a wig in ID, which was noticeable. I didn't spot any obvious switching, though. Also very distracting was his ear had slipped back during the scene on the Franklin where they're discussing Uhura's necklace. You can't unsee it.

It does seem like if you're spending $200 million on a movie, you'd get the little things right.

McCoy just made a horrible mistake while he was treating Spock. And no one was saying anything because it's like saying, "Oh, look at all the blood" to an otherwise calm child who has a minor scrape. You don't want them to start crying in a needless panic. Spock would definitely do that.

I wouldn't say it was shoehorned.
She wasn't a rogue by choice, she was one out of necessity because she lost her family.
Having her find a new family in Starfleet seems like a fitting end to me.

If we see her again. I expect that she'll have changed a lot.

She might not make it completely through the Academy and need Kirk or Scotty's mentorship to make it through.

Seems to me she'd have more of an edge that gets her in trouble - the new Ensign Ro.

Hope not. I would enjoy her as an addition. This ensemble could use another gal as well.

Yeah, I don't want another Mission Impossible situation where there's a new female agent every movie while the male team stays largely intact..

We never saw Carol Marcus even though she was allegedly part of the crew.
