FOX: Sleepy Hollow - Season Discussion

It's only a matter of time before Pandora turns on the Hidden One since he's treating her like crap. The Hidden One is nowhere near as scary as Moloch was. Pandora was creepy until The Hidden One showed up. Now she just sits around fretting. I think for me whats missing this season is a creepy and scary Big Bad. We never saw Moloch all that much and he looked scary so he worked better as the main bad guy than THO who looks just like a dude and we see him way too much.

At least the ratings stayed the same as last week and didn't drop. - http://tvline.com/2016/02/20/second-chance-friday-ratings/

I've enjoyed the last few episodes.
I didn't think the whole "Bride of the Kindred" episode was that bad.
I can't remember now, how did they leave off things with Zoe and Ichabod?
This last one was pretty good.
Nevins is a goo, seondary villain, and during this episode I was kind of wishing that he was actually our Big Bad this season rather than The Hidden One and Pandora. I do agree that they are starting to get a little boring. I can understand that they appear to be trying to go back to more of a monster of the week format, but it would be nice if our villainous pair did more than just sit around while random monster attack the heroes.
The monster this week was at least pretty interesting with the whole Nevins/Corbin connection.
The stuff with Abby and Jenny and their father was nice.

OK, this last episode was pretty good; lots of stuff going on, and on multiple levels. Not sure how I feel about Abby's "new god," though. Really liked the stuff with their father, the scenes with Jenny & Joe and the monster hunt.

This is a vast improvement over the last episode.

Ah, man, I'm not crazy about that last scene either. We're probably nearing the end of the series and I don't want it to end with Abbie enthralled by some supernatural force. Or any other cliffhanger.

Other than that, this was a good one, although noticeably lacking in Revolutionary War flashbacks. But I liked the connection with Corbin and the parallels between Joe's relationship with his father and the Mills Sisters' relationship with their father. The meetings between Abbie and Jenny and their father were low key and well done, and it was rather poignant that the uppermost thing on Abbie's mind was how her mother's mental illness developed.

I cracked up at Ichabod's finding a resemblance between Abbie and ET. :rommie:

Ratings ticked up a bit
That's good news, although I'm trying not to have hope.

like so much of Crane's life - they are history.
Ouch. :rommie:

Not a bad episode. The Jersey Devil was a rather intelligent creature whom Crane had met before. Crane would have died from the venomous sting because Abbie was so fixated on the symbol. But I can't help wondering if it's actually a "good" artifact, considering she stated it had a calming effect on her. It could be linked to the benevolent god Pandora vanquished ages ago.

Yeah, this season has been a real chore for the most part. Even Pandora is starting to look really ragged and weary (even in her flashback to her prime, prior to her ever being imbued with godly power), almost as if the actress is feeling the same way about the show.

This one wasn't quite as good as last week's but still enjoyable.
I liked The Jersey Devil guy, it was nice to have an intelligent monster, and his rivalry with Ben Franklin was a nice bit of character.
The backstory for The Hidden One and Pandora was interesting, but I missed the significance of the hour glass.
Joe and Jenny got a nice little relationship story.
It looks like Abbie might not have been turned after all. I guess there's a chance she was lying to Crane, but I really hope not.

A fairly "meh" episode. This whole plot with the Hidden One god is really dragging on. He basically sits around going "Muwhaha" in his cave while Pandora looks drained and longs for her powers back. OK, we got it. Can we move this along already?

I don't like the whole Abbie and the Symbol thing; it doesn't make sense how such a strong character (she survived being in HELL) is suddenly worshiping a mere symbol without understanding what it means. It doesn't fit the character we've been shown all series long.

^^ It was presented as more of an addiction, although that's inconsistent with the ending of the last episode. Either there's more going on than we know or the writers changed their mind. I like the PTSD angle better than her being in the thrall of some supernatural force.

The Jersey Devil guy was kind of funny, and I liked that his backstory was connected to Ben Franklin and Colonial America. Too bad we didn't get to see Franklin, though. I also liked the Steampunk touch of the Colonial-Era movie projector, and Leeds' backstory evoked Jekyll and Hyde, so it had kind of a classic feel. The guy himself reminded me of one of those random demons from Buffy who looked demonic but acted like a regular guy (although he was a bit feral in the opening sequence).

I wonder why Pandora gets to be in the title sequence, but the Hidden One doesn't. Maybe that's what his name means.

I don't even understand why Abbie thinks the symbol or some mysterious force helped her escape. If anything, she should be "worshipping" Betsy Ross; it was her escape and the effective clue she left behind that gave Abbie the epiphany.

Are people still into this show? I feel so mentally checked out at this point. My friend finally stopped watching it with me and now I just throw it on while I'm doing other things. I just really don't care about this whole Hidden One / Pandora storyline, and even the Abby Crane relationship isn't really firing anymore...

Yeah. Kind of watching it out of habit now, because I like the cast. It has yet to be as good as it was in the first season.

At this point, with only three episodes left, it's like well I might as well watch the last three to see how it ends. I don't expect it to get renewed.

I honestly don't care if it gets renewed. This season was too much of a snooze-fest that it's cancelled for me either way. Though like you, I'll see how this season ends just to appease my curiosity.

I hate to agree, but I agree. I hope it gets renewed because I love Abby and Ichabod so much (and because they remind me so much of me and my old girlfriend), but the writing has been really uninspired. It's like the writers don't know what they want to do. Betsy Ross is in the main cast, but she's hardly ever in the show. The storylines about Ichabod's citizenship and saving the Archives were introduced and then forgotten. Same thing with his new girlfriend, but at least they tied that up, awkward as it was. Everything seems like an afterthought. If they get another year, I hope they can get a producer who cares about the characters and can introduce a tighter plot more closely tied to the Revolutionary War.
