You're in trouble now. Once you move there, I can use that an excuse. "But we HAVE to go visit!"
You will have two very goofy-looking, old people on your doorstep one day.![]()
I've never travelled outside the us. I went to Windsor Canada but that is an extension of Detroit that it almost doesn't count. I've never been overseas or even the main cities in Canada
I might be going to Toronto this summer. It's mainly a NYC trip but we might take a trip to Toronto to attach to it. Would love to see a Maple Leafs game or even go to Montreal and experience the French Canadian Culture.I have become very fond of Canada over the last few years. I go to Toronto every year - it's one of my favorite cities I've ever been to. I freaking love Toronto. And this year I plan to go to Ottawa as well so I can visit Parliament Hill.
Thanks for the recommendations. I would love to go to Rogers Center but I'm not sure how much time we will have. If I do go to NY, I would love to see both the Yankees and the Mets, mostly the Mets and Citi Field. Might be hard to get tickets considering their world series run.^ I'd love to go to Montreal too, but I don't speak a word of French so I don't know how well I could get by there....
If you can, try and catch a game at Rogers Centre too. IIRC, the Blue Jays are the only team that plays there now (the Argos are now sharing BMO Field with Toronto FC). It's a nice stadium - even has a hotel in it, which is where I always stay. I highly recommend it, it's a Marriott. Some rooms even have a view of the field!
Oh and make sure you check out the PATH system. It's ginormous - literally a whole world underground. Almost every building in downtown Toronto is connected to it.
Well, you might expect a visit from me in, say, about 20 -25 years, if I'm still around.Hah well I won't exactly be in a touristy area. We'll be in the Midlands, a few hours north of London. I am planning to move at some point this year, so definitely stay in touch and message me if you're ever over there!
I would love to visit all of the MLB ballparks, preferable in one season.
Good luck!
Was it uncomfortable at all or did it feel natural? I think I'd be so awkward on a horse.
You'd get tired of airports REAL quick if you did that.
srsly, that's a fine quest to be on - took me 8 years, but I had a lot of fun doing it. If you do this, I highly recommend Sports Travel & Tours - they take care of everything for you, like getting the tickets, transportation to the ballpark (this is a HUGE help at places like Dodger Stadium which aren't accessible by public transit), hotel lodgings, that sort of thing. Also they often include city and ballpark tours as part of the package. Can't go wrong with that!![]()
It's funny you mentioned Dodger Stadium, we went to a game there last year, and we got totally lost in the parking lot on the way out. It took us about 30 minutes to even find the lot that we parked in!
