The Walking Dead Season 6 Discussion

You guys know we ALSO have to blame Darryl , who was with him, and knew about the backpack as well. He obviously didn't stop to ask "Hey Aaron, you should show him the photos of Alexandria" to Morgan.

If Darryl forgot too, we can't be too harsh on Aaron.

Can anyone find a map that shows Alexandria in relation to Noah's neighborhood and the Wolf trap?

Not sure how far away the Wolf trap is from Alexandria, but it appeared to be right outside of DC, so we'll say a couple of miles, max. Now, Noah said he was from Richmond, which is 103 miles from Alexandria if you take I-95. I'm assuming they didn't, since 95 would probably be clogged with derelict cars. So, depending on where the Wolves are situated, they're operating on at least a 50 to 100 mile radius (which seems pretty far-fetched, since gas doesn't grow on trees and should be next to unusable by now).

Just rewatched the "Help" at the end. The voice is pretty darned close to Glen's, but I think it's a long shot that it's him, even though it does make sense for it to be him as he's also been on whatever frequency they've all been using
In any case, next week is the big Rick/Michonne/Morgan conversation about the best way to live. With only two episodes of 6A left, something has to be reaching a boiling point. Then, there's the threat of this new group--and wolves in the area.
Yeah... it's coming to a head, but I suspect them to hold off on this new group until 6B. I'd think the big midseason finale will more likely be about the Wolves & possibly the herd. The Wolves seem like a "Terminus" plot device, especially now that this new more substantial group is being introduced. I'd be very surprised to see both story lines progress at the same time, which means Rick & Co will make some short work of the remaining Wolves in some kind of action packed midseason climax, which will either bring Morgan around, or see him make an exit from this violence he's against.

Lord knows I sure do want him to stay, but he really is at odds with living in a group that must protect itself from invading groups. He might be able to go live Obi-Wan style & keep his code, but when you got something others want, namely safety & comforts, then you are in the forced position of having to defend it with as much vigor as the people who come at you

Actually, in the ZA, if you had a motorcycle accident, you'd probably WANT brain damage, or you'd end up just like that. lol

I'd never wear a helmet :guffaw:

I thought the near-skeleton zombies were pushing it way too far. We heard that motorcycle helmet zombie moaning, but the thing didn't even have much in the way of a neck or lungs left, right?

At some point, an actual skeleton is going to get up and start chasing them.

More filler.

But at least we meet what I presume to be Negan's group. Daryl once again demonstrating that when you're not ruthless, the universe fucks with you. First, the girl who needed insulin gets killed (so taking it back to them was pointless) and then they steal your shit and leave you for dead. That all made Daryl look a little dumb to be honest. Daryl needs to get on board the Rick/Carol ruthless train as soon as possible.

And speaking of dumb insulin girl, how did the walkers that killed her break out of what I believe to be melted and then re-solidified plastic? Does plastic shatter like that and if so, why didn't they get up and go look for people-food earlier?

Rapey Abraham? Was that necessary? Where is that going?

The milking to death of... is Glenn dead or not, continues.

I think the wolves are pretty much done. Rick killed the several that we saw escape. The only wolf left is probably the one that Morgan kept alive. He'll probably break out and make trouble with the herd. If he isn't already a zombie by then, that is.

Yeah, at this point they're pretty much just magic and should be treated as such. There's not really a way a near-skeleton can move without muscles.

If Morgan leaves, I could see his bookend being a return to the safety of Eastman's home, and deciding to live there in isolation, since the "life is precious" code will never work beyond one person.

And speaking of dumb insulin girl

She was dumb--and after a couple years of the ZA, no one should be ignorant that walkers never dying unless suffering brain damage. That's bad writing, as there's just no excuse for her to assume the bodies were not reanimated, even if caught under plastic.

Rapey Abraham? Was that necessary? Where is that going?

I'm not sure, other than Abraham eventually breaking up with Rosita.

That seems highly unlikely.

Why not? If Morgan is (ultimately) written out of the series, I see that a sensible bookend, instead of the usual on this show--death.

Well that's obviously not true.

I thought it was plastic too, but on TD they mentioned it being (greenhouse) glass. Which doesn't really answer your question. Maybe it just wasn't that strong.

Those two were "lurkers" like the one that nailed Hershel's leg. I think the idea is that if you cut walkers off from sensory input, they just go dormant. Until stimulated again, of course.

I loved Daryl's adventure. It was just like him to return the insulin. And then they go and rip him off. No good deed goes unpunished in the Zombie Apocalypse. :(

The Abraham and Sasha scenes were just plain weird. The dialogue was like something out of a 60s arthouse flick. I can think of a few better matches for Sasha than Abraham.

Rapey Abraham? Was that necessary? Where is that going?
I'm not sure, other than Abraham eventually breaking up with Rosita.
He means that Abraham was not being the slightest bit rapey. Quite the opposite, in fact.

"rapey Abraham"?? What show are you watching?

I have to admit there was a moment during that scene when the thought did occur to me, and certainly for a few seconds there was a hint of feeling less than comfortable in Sasha's eyes, but it was just Abraham being very ham fisted in telling a girl he likes her.

So, if this new group attack Alexandria will Daryl need to apologise for making them aware of the place? (wonder if he had any flyers in his rucksack?)

That sounded like Glenn to me on the radio.

Much better than last week but still not a patch on the opening episodes of the season.

Well that's obviously not true.

The tone and direction of the series says it is, since the "life sparing" move is often viewed as wrong (e.g. Noah having to tell Tyreese that the "no one has to die today" / prisoner exchange instead of Rick's "death hit and run" plan).

The way Rick is running things, no one sees Morgan accepting any part of that. Its oil and water with "all life is precious," so I only see Morgan sticking around if the split community plot is adapted, where he either leads or supports that alternate base. If not, what are Morgan's options?

The point is that if Eastman's code could never work beyond one person Morgan would have never learned it.

What Alexandria was doing isn't working and Morgan's fully-realized ideals may not work beyond himself, but melding some of that ethic with the Rick/Carol approach is a step in the right direction to make Alexandria a sustainable sanctuary.

Actual geography isn't an issue in the show. Alexandria is a fairly large city of its own right in the middle of a huge urban area, not an isolated housing development (and those houses in Alexandria would be in the millions, not starting at 800 like advertised, but I digress.)

There isn't a rural area just a few minutes away from Alexandria as depicted in the show. You'd have to go 10-20 miles to get to that point, and then you're still in the far exurbs of DC. Farmland isn't until you're 50 miles away - about half way between DC and Richmond.
