The Walking Dead Season 6 Discussion

In other news, Garret Danhunt has taken to Twitter to lobby for the role of Negan. I can see it; he was good as the Terminator on The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

No, there were people falling ill and dying from an outbreak, like the teenage girl's boyfriend.

Incorrect. He was bitten. we were shown the wound. There was no display of anyone dying from the flu in FTWD.
Interesting. I guess I forget that. It doesn't seem possible that it could spread that quickly through bites alone. Who bit the woman next door and the guy wandering in the school?

The woman next door killed herself with pillls. I don't recall the guy in the school having any obvious cause of death.

The principal had a bite on his pack, near the neck.

I completely forgot about the bite--I guess I wasn't paying that much attention. That said, what we saw in the series was just the tipping point--it is quite possible that the virus could have been spreading relatively unseen by the public for months--kept secret by the government so as not to spread panic.

I say that because that is the show I actually wanted to see rather than the one we got.

Have we seen someone die/turn from a scratch? And I'm guessing were talking a meaningful, deep, scratch. A scrape. Not a steak of rough skin and red lines in the top layer.
Nope, no one has turned from a scratch so far. Just as no one has demonstrated any hint of immunity, contrary to how may times people keep alluding to immunity in this thread.

In the second season when Rick and Shane went to that school (18 miles out), didn't the guard walkers they kill die(become zombies) from scratches?

Its been some time since I watched that episode. I thought they discovered two guards dead side by side (a symbolic parallel of Rick & Shane), and were not reanimated?

It was when Rick wanted to use knifes, so he killed the first zombified guard and had Shane kill the 2nd with his knife.

how much are we betting that this week won't resolve the Glenn shit, & we'll be on the hook for at least another episode?

^^ Ditto.

Interesting. I guess I was rewriting in my head. I definitely like my way better. :rommie:

^I wouldn't be surprised if we're still hanging on through the mid-season finale

A real possibility--especially if Glenn's fate in 6B is tied to the 800 lb. gorilla in the room / villain yet to be introduced.

Everyone has their Glenn/death theories, but something tells me there's a chance another major "A" level character will end up with his comic book fate. That character would be the most bold move in TWD history, but the producers would also gain credits for pulling no punches.

Probably just an easter egg--but it might be a way at pointing some things out in an almost subliminal way.

Rewatching the pilot now, since it had the only restaurant scene. I wanna take a look.

ETA: Just watched the scene. There was an "A" on a printed sign hanging by the door of the diner. I seriously doubt it had anything to do with the current plot. Not even subliminally.

Interesting "changing of the guard" / speech episode.

Aaron: finally admitted his guilt with the abandoned pack, so the other residents cannot blame Rick's crew.

Spencer: Finally coming into his own and possibly stepping in where his mother faded, but alcohol--and blaming Deanna for the family deaths? That cannot go anywhere good.

Please, no Spencer / Rosita / Abraham drama....

Now that Deanna's officially handed the keys over to Rick, what place will she serve? Or will it take something tragic to unfold (like that's not going on every other second) for her to become the "new" Deanna who asserts herself with Rick?

Maggie: yep, she's pregnant. Her anguish with uncertainty was effective, but the nature of her almost getting to the point of even thinking Glenn is dead seems a set up for his return.

Ron I think he's not to be trusted. His turnaround about saving Carl--and learning how to shoot....

Morgan: did he tell anyone about his captive?

Carl: He's been level headed for so long, that I hope he does not "suddenly" become desperate and stupid trying to find Enid.

What threat will take advantage of the sewer tunnels?

Deanna hands over the keys to Rick, nice. I suspect Deanna's role will be more what Reg's was under her, more in the planning and such for any expansion while Rick handles the day-to-day details.

I actually sort-of chuckled when the infirmary chick kissed Tara; wasn't expecting that and I'm guessing IC got the "lesbian vibe" from Tara? Or was she just rolling the dice?

I still think Aaron is being a little hard on himself on the wolves finding Alexandria, they were bound to find them sooner or later if they were an active enough threat to the area. I did like him pointing out how the quarry breached and the walkers at their walls was inevitable and lessened by Rick's plan.

Maggie's pregnant?! What an utterly shocking and unexpected surprise! (sarcasm off)

So.... I'm guessing Deanna never learned to give the walkers a head-shot in order to put them down?

The walker that attacked Deanna, as that Morgan's Wolf prisoner? Mention is made of Carol having "got one of them" without ever recovering the body.

I dunno, I think the other angsty teenager kid has turned his leaf to Rick's side. I think the confrontation between him and Carl was a bit out of nowhere but I guess expected for teenagers. Did him and Enid really solidify their relationship enough for him to consider her his "girlfriend?" Seemed to me like she was playing the field with both him and Carl.

So, can we put the baby-monitor thing from two weeks ago to rest and accept that Judith wasn't taken by a Wolf/Enid and is perfectly okay we just didn't happen to get to see the baby monitor because of a production/continuity error?

I was really expecting Maggie and Aaron to run into Glenn inside the sewer given one of the speculations on how Glenn survived -climbing under the dumpster and finding a sewer grate/manhole.

Nice kiss between Rick and what's her name. (I'm terrible with names, okay?!)

Liked the talk between Rosita and Deanna's son on the wall.

I'm no doctor, but the IC seemed to not know what to do with the guy in the infirmary with the infection in his leg. I dunno.... antibiotics? I also thought maybe opening the wound, cleaning it, removing any puss/infection. (Which is covered by her doing it with the syringe.) All else fails, remove the leg to prevent the infection from spreading? I know she went into a psychological field in medical school but I'd think she know some basics on treatment and care. Don't you still have to go through some basic hands-on medical practice before choosing your specialty and field of focus?

The walkers in the sewer were really, really well done and perfectly gruesome. Big hats of to Greg Nicotero on that one, the guy can really deliver when it comes to the makeup and look of the walkers.

Good episode and, yep, I'm going to say we're not finding out about Glenn until the back-8 starts.

I'll admit. the bleeding fence bit at the end has me stumped. I had to rewatch that bit 3 times to figure out what we were looking at. I mean, the typical thing would be to show the fence weakening and the zombies starting to get through. Not sure what the bleeding fence signifies? Maybe the weight of the zombies are starting to "juice" the ones against the fence?

Overall a nice episode showing the development of the alexandrians. Seems there's hope for some of them at least.
