We have nothing to post but fear itself.
I can't wait.![]()
This.
It is an honor to post my first reply to a Samuel T. Cogley post in I don't know how many years. A new Star Trek series is in the works and Cogley is posting about it.
The good old days are back, baby.![]()

You must have access to CBS. Probably cable or satellite TV to see the premier ... $$$$$$
Well, no. CBS is free. Everyone has access to CBS. It's a network.

That doesn't mean that almost everyone pays for either cable or a satellite service.
I have set my expectations as low as possible.
Considering the guy involved has given us that abomination that is NuTrek I do not hold out much hope.
No mention of whether it will be canon either
That said I had a lot of negative hope for Enterprise, at the time, but it was better than I expected, it was canon and at least made an effort, and while it was far from perfect it was in my opinion the last trek tv, as nu trek does not count.
I do hope I am proven wrong, and it will be canon, set in the usual trek universe and respectful of the previous shows, and none of this alternate rubbish.
Time will tell

You won't need cable or satellite at all to watch the premier on CBS. CBS is, and always has been, an over-the-air broadcast network, NOT a cable station. So all you need is an antenna.
Kor
Indeed. TOS and DS9 are my two favorite Prime trek series, with TNG right behind them. I love the Abrams films, and have been a fan of Star Trek since I was 4. I was 6 when TNG aired, and you might as well have thought it was the second coming of Jesus in our house. So I don't like it when people make blanket statements like "oh, real fans don't like the movies," or "true fans know that the new films aren't Star Trek," and then imply that people who like the new films probably don't like the TV shows. How silly to make such a statement and expect it to be unequivocally true. That's an odd statement to make. Why those two iterations of Star Trek? Me, I like both. There's a guarantee that a good chunk of us won't like it. Fans of the new films probably don't like DS9 and vice versa, but they're both valid "Star Trek". Much the same conversation when TNG came out and DIDN'T have Kirk in it. I still know people who only like the original. I'm surprised there's so much hate here when the Star Trek we have is already so diverse
I came across a petition at change.org to ask CBS to set the new series in the prime universe.

TOS and DS9 are my two favorite Trek series and have been for years. I love it when other fans feel the need to decide for everybody else what they do or don't like or what they will or won't enjoy.
Why you gotta bring up Nemesis? All Glory Unto the Bomb!
Me too!I do hope I am proven wrong, and it will be canon, set in the usual trek universe and respectful of the previous shows, and none of this alternate rubbish.

To each their own. Whether it's "canon" or not is the least of my concerns. "Canon" has nothing to do with the actual quality of the writing, acting, direction, etc.
If it's a good show, I'll watch it regardless if it's "canon" or not.
Ugh...God!
You Trek fans sound like a bunch of old nagging women.
Support the show and quit complaining, because if you don't support it you will be the ones to blame for it being killed.
Agreed. That was what killed the Stargate franchise.
Me three! Canon be damned! Continutiy be damned! Be a good show's all I ask!Me too!I do hope I am proven wrong, and it will be canon, set in the usual trek universe and respectful of the previous shows, and none of this alternate rubbish.
