Teen Wolf Season 5

I thought Scott, Malia, and Mason were going to find Hayden and Liam, but Theo ended up saving the duo. Kira also remembered the Dread Doctors paid her a visit the night that she and her family were stuck in traffic. So where is she going now?

I wonder how Sheriff Stilinski goes about explaining the string of teenager deaths in Beacon Hills, with the victims bleeding mercury and eventually disappearing. The public surely would not believe a supernatural explanation...

Dude, it's Beacon Hills. Everyone has had something happen to them.

Even, it turns out Lydia's Mum was in some sort of Scooby gang in the 80s.

Pretty obvious, but maybe Parish is a Reaper? Since a broad definition of what he is doing is obviously called Reaping. Although he is also fertilizing that tree with the dead super...

Oh, no.

The dread Doctor's are not trying to make Supernatural Kids, they're trying to infect the Nemeton with science and thus change the fabric of reality to forward an even deeper game on their part.

^ That would explain Parrish's (unconscious) role in taking the bodies of the chimeras.

It appears Theo's ultimate goal is to break up Scott's pack. He's already succeeded in creating a rift between Scott and Stiles by revealing Donovan's death (and lying about the circumstances).

He also made the comment to the Dread Doctors about them promising him a pack, so I'm wondering if the Chimeras were also supposed to be a part of his pack.
I hope they don't kill Hayden, I like her.
Looks like we're getting closer to some answers about Parrish.
What did the Surgeon keep saying Theo? All I could make out was something about synergy.

I think Hayden will be okay: the Dread Doctors injected her with the last of the Selena Gomez DNA and her transformation is now complete.

I don't know about the Reaper theory. It doesn't gel with the Human Torch impression Parrish did a few weeks ago. However Guy's speculation on the Doctors tainting the supernatural compost heap with science sounds interesting.

"Perigee-Syzygy," something to do with the moon's position or stellar alignment.

Thank you. The crazy mechanical thing they do with the voices makes it hard to for me to understand them occasionally.

That was a bit too "all over the place" for a midseason finale.

Overall, the story was less than coherent. Theo had originally set out to usurp Scott's status as Alpha, but in the end he decided to form his own pack of resurrected chimeras. I suppose he was originally trying to take over Scott's pack, but the execution of his plans wasn't really done very well for him to succeed in the first place, especially in the ways he revealed his true motives to the group. He abducted Lydia and Malia, but the latter was rescued by Braeden, who just appeared out of nowhere. At least Lydia finally figured out what Parrish is - a Hellhound. Theo's attempt to pit Liam against Scott was pointless. I felt like the characters lacked any conviction or motivation.

And what's the deal with the bipedal animal that attacked the school offscreen? Was that Malia's mother? What was the motive for destroying school property? Plus, the villains of the season - Dread Doctors - didn't have any vital role.

Anyway, kudos to Cody Christian. He did a great job playing a wolf in sheep's clothing this season.

The finale was kind of a disjointed mess, but at least the Hellhound reveal was novel and has the virtue of being unexpected.

Yeah, I never even thought of something like that.
Overall I did enjoy the episode, but it was kind of weird.
We spent most of the season building up the Dread Doctors, with Leo as kind of a secondary thread, and now all of a sudden the focus on Theo with the DD barely around. I was not expecting the big Chimera reveal. I'm not quite sure what the had to do with what he had been doing the rest of the season. If they already had a succesful Chimera, why were they trying to so hard to make more? Were they just trying to make as many as possibly? Was the plan always for Liam to become their leader, or did he just do that because he couldn't take over Scott's pack.
I was under the impression that reason they kept trying to make more was because they had not been able to make any succesful Chimera.
I was kind of confused by the attack on the school too. I had assumed it was one of the Chimera, but it was never stated outright.
I'm a huge fan of Braeden, but her appearance he was kind of random.

Okay, I was wrong. Parrish isn't a phoenix; he's a Hellhound.

So what was that hidden painting the Doctors uncovered at the end?

It looked like two werwolves fighting. I'm wonder if it is some kind of prophecy about Liam and Scott.

They said that the hell hounds work for a bunch of Gods.

Odin.

Heeey.

One of the Dread Doctors had a little hammer attached to the end of his walking stick/cane.

But if he was a god I doubt he would need to give himself artificial supernatural abilities.

Well that really depends on your definition of a God doesn't.

Someone with a superior technology who ignorant savages supplicate in fear before?

If ninth century Vikings met the Dread Doctors, of course they're going to call them Gods.

Creating the universe and alpowerfulness isn't as important to Godhood as a good patter.

The Great and Powerful Oz for instance.

Reputation vs. Substance.

Meanwhile, if that is Odin Thor and Heimdall, who is to say that they didn't create the original supernatural creatures a thousand years ago, and now think that it's possible that they are just one upping themselves like how Ford brings out a year line of cars every year.

Either they are immortal, or it's a legacy passed down a family line, or even a position in a religious/military structure.

How they wink in and out, and shimmer, does seem like they are not exactly in tune with our reality, how we have come to accept how special effects might demonstrate such a situation, because Beacon Hills is not Asgard.

:)

Seriously, a hammer!
