During one of the flash-forwards, we also saw a bunch of flashes of what appeared to be the Pack members in life threatening situation. The only one I remember for sure if Malia being attacked by someone, they hinted it might have been her mother.
For a second there I wondered if it was a real book, but once they explained the origin it became clear it wasn't.
So Valek is an enemy of The Dread Doctors, not actually one of them.
If you are in the US they do have episodes 1 & 2 of the season streaming for free on Hulu, 3-5 on the MTV app and all of the episodes on MTV.com.
I was a kind of annoyed that Stiles didn't tell the others about being attacked. I understand he was freaked out by the whole thing, but I didn't really see any reason not to tell them what happened.

Yeah, that just felt like fake drama and kinda out of character for Stiles.

I think he was supposed to keeping be quiet because he felt guilty about killing someone, but given that it's was unquestionably in self-defense . . I'm not sure why he's so tormented over it.

But note how prickly he gets when Scott talks about Kira almost killing another of the Doctors' creations . . ...

If Scott is an alpha wolf, what does he need an asthma inhaler for? I thought werewolves had super health.

That guy Theo is hella ripped. He should stay on as a regular.

That was the point. Scott hasn't had asthma since becoming a werewolf. But the "Dread Doctors" book triggered a flashback to an asthma attack he had as a kid and he was reliving that.

It was "psychosomatic," as they explained on the show.

Despite the concern she showed for Scott in the latest episode, the AP Biology teacher is a jerk. I've never seen a high school teacher advocate dropping a class as strongly as she does. Repeatedly. In every episode.

I really hope all of Malia's drooling over Theo doesn't mean they are breaking up her and Stiles. I really like them together.
I didn't really find anything comment worthy in the episode this week, although I did enjoy it overall.

I don't think Malia is going to dump Stiles for Theo. I mean, sure, Theo is a super hunk, but if anything, Malia is annoyed with him. He's trying too hard to be a part of Scott's pack.

I'm curious what his relationship is to the Dread Doctors. During the episode I was kind of starting to wonder if he might not remember working with them when he isn't with them.
I was looking at the Teen Wolf wiki page, and they actually have individual titles.
The one with with the half black leather, half metal mask and the yellow glass attached to it is "The Surgeon". He was the one who injected Tacy and he appears to be the leader. The Pathologist has the completely metal mask and wears a brown coat, and the Geneticist has the completely metal mask, with the bar going down the middle of it, and the rivets around the mouth.
If anyone is interested, the episode recap has the text from the book that was shown during the episode. It's nothing that interesting, just a girl named Judy being attacked by her friend Amy, who it sounds like was experiemented on by the Dread Doctors.
I wonder if they'll release a real world version of the book? A lot of shows where a book played a role in the story have done that. They've released at least one or two Nikki Heat books each season of Castle, and there is a real world version of Hank Moody's book from Californication.

^They also did a RL version of the book Amy Pond wrote on Doctor Who.

A Dread Doctors paperback would be cool but I'd prefer Teen Wolf having its own line of original tie-in novels. To my knowledge, only one was ever published. The three issue comic that Image produced was such poor quality that it doesn't deserve to be mentioned.

    Thanks!

So, since I had all that, I guess I hadn't really missed anything. I'm not liking this season as much. The first two? Great! Then it started...I don't know.

An attack by the Dread Doctors complicates Scott's plan to protect the latest victim.

That was an interesting episode, despite the vague reference to telluric currents and radio frequencies in Beacon Hills. I suppose that was all part of the gang's plot to try to capture the Dread Doctors, which didn't quite work. We still don't know why Parrish goes into a trance-like state and steals the dead chimeras, but at least Sheriff Stilinski and Mrs. McCall might be onto something as they tried to figure out the commonalities among the victims by looking at their medical records. I get the feeling Hayden is going to be Liam's romantic interest. At first, he was very apologetic to her for what happened back in 6th grade, but he's acting very protective of her lately.

    1. In the future every one is dead except Lydia.

    2. The Dark Doctors are not there. They are (also) brainwaves. You want to block them, attune your rf blocker to EEG frequencies.

    3. Parish is a Phoenix.

Spoilery question: Whose body did Scott's mom find there at the end?

^ I was wondering about that myself. Could it be their housekeeper?

Given that Scott's mom is barely getting by financially, I doubt they can afford a housekeeper.

I was afraid that maybe it was Kira, whose whereabouts are unaccounted for . . . .

I rewound to pause that three time, and still couldn't make out her face.

I figured Hayden would be a love interest from Liam pretty much from their first scene together. I'm wondering if since she's kind of a Werewolf now, if she might stick around and join the pack.
Glad to know I wasn't the only one who wasn't sure about the woman at the end.
I got a kick out of seeing Stiles' dad and Scott's mom working together.

    Maybe Parish is a Balrog?
