They also mentioned that the pym particles are driving the bad guy nuts and all his evil actions are the result of some kind of psychosis.
It feels a bit like a subplot was cut with the particles influence on one's mental health.
Possibly because they decided they did not want to make it an issue for Scott, but couldn't cut the line with the suit taking it's toll on Pym and Cross.

They might have meant to use that later to explain Pym's volatile behavior he is known for in the comics.

Dr Pym mentioned that the Ant-Man helmet shielded the user from the effects. Maybe not totally or Dr Pym made that breakthrough after using the technology in combat himself.

It's possible he was talking about the mental problems casued by using the suit, but I think it's more a matter of the stress that was put on his body over the years. There was a time in the comics when he was confined to 10 feet and called himself Goliath, the stress from going to being Giant Man to Ant-Man was the cause.

Was Cross really supposed to have already been driven insane by the particles? The line I recall was something like Exposure to the particles can cause insanity, bla bla, : "I don't believe Darren realizes this." I took it to say that Cross was on a dangerous path with no idea what he was about to do to himself, not that he was already functionally insane due to the particles.

^ I don't recall the exact dialogue but my recollection is that it was essentially said that Cross was already an unstable personality and exposure to the particle had worsened this.

Only A to F options ? No A+ to F- ?

Great film, loved it !

Certainly in my top 5 Marvel movies (with IM1, Avengers 1, Guardians and Winter Soldier), great nods to wider Marvel continuity, well paced and well written. It may have had a troubled gestation but it's no Frankensteins monster.

Michael Douglas was great. I'd really like to see some of the 1960's Ant Man adventures !

^There is an outline of a human figure that Scott passes by that is very easy to miss. Jan?

I believe so. Although I have heard 'Eternity' mentioned as well.

Right now, a series following the adventures of young Agent Pym sounds better than another season of Agent Carter, and I like that show.

If there's 10 years between each season of Agent Carter, which no one has suggested that there might be, so we could very well see a lot of characters that we are aware of as toddlers and adolescents.

OK, so everyone points to the same image, it's just a debate over what it is. While I could plausibly see a silhouette of Jan, it's also plausibly Eternity (who wouldn't even need to be a silhouette since Eternity always looks kinda like that).

I saw a small goose eating a pie.

Is there a superhero that fits that description?

That would be pretty difficult as in the continuity (per a line from the film itself); Hank Pym made the Pym Particle breakthrough in 1975. It appears most of Hank and Janet's adventures took place in the 1980ies. ;)

You didn't have to look for her.

"You said crossing the streams was bad?"

Speed of plot.

Besides, in the comics, Jan was missing for almost 5 years in the Microverse, thought to be completely dead by the readership.

For me, the tell is that they never showed Jan's face even in old photographs. They obviously have plans for her and didn't want to commit to an actress yet.

I suspect that's more likely them just keeping their options open, rather than having any deliberate plans. They don't even know if there's going to be another Ant-Man film, and per Feige they haven't decided where Hope/Wasp will make her costumed debut.

A good romp. Thoroughly enjoyable. I've always thought Ant Man and the Wasp sucked but this movie worked.

Janet died in the 80s, but I don't recall anything else in the movie. Do you remember when they talked about that?
