zzzzzz zzzzz yawn

When was the last time you fell asleep at the movies? or, are you one of those who never has fallen asleep during a movie..

The last time I did was at the Hulk earlier this year. I had already seen it, and when I took my nephew I zonked out half way through and woke up for the exciting ending...

A movie I fell asleep the first time I saw it? Two movies hold his distinction. DUNE...good God...I zonked out a half-hour in and didn't wake up until it was over...and GHOSTBUSTERS 2. Twenty-minutes in and I was out...

I have to admit that with WRATH OF KHAN came out, they played it as a double-bill with THE MOTION PICTURE at some point near the end of the summer. I went there at 1030am, paid my $1, and stayed until 12 midnight after the last showing. I would sleep during slow parts of TMP, meaning from the moment Spock fixes the warp drive, all the way to when they find Vgr. It would recharge my 'batteries' for KHAN...

I'm gonna be burned at the stake for this but...I conked out during the Matrix and Batman Begins. Great movies-I just needed the rest.

I went to the midnight showing of Two Towers and I almost fell asleep during the battle, I was like "WTF it's a battle I can't sleep now!"

Never fallen asleep at the cinema, but then we've tended to go for the first showing of the day.

Closest was probably when they did a trek movie marathon a few years back (if memory serves, it was 1 - 6, just before Generations came out)

Since I wasn't a fan of those books, never read them, it was hard NOT to fall asleep. The problem I have with those movies is that they all seem like...one big movie. And I swear, they seem to be heading for that mountain in the distance for eight out of those nine hours....I know LOTR is a great series, and the movies were good. But they were slow at times. At least they put them out in three consecutive years. Having to wait three years for the next one to come out would have made that hike for that mountain even LONGER

I've never actually fallen asleep in a movie, but the last one that came close was Pirates 2. It was such a jumble of over the top, mindnumbing CGI that my brain just shut off about halfway through. And the movie seemed to go on for freakin ever.

I'm never one to fall asleep during movies (my mom on the other hand does it all the time.) However, while watching The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford earlier this year I was so bored by it I was asleep when the actual assassination finally happened. This was at home though, never ever fallen asleep in the theater!

I have never fallen asleep in a theater. My little brother fell asleep when the re released the original Star Wars movie in 97 I believe.

I have still not forgiven him...

Phantom Menace.

Friends and I went to see it the day it opened, saw it twice that day, and the second time I fell asleep while they were on Tatooine, waking up in time for the pod race.

I regret nothing!!!!

Happened to me three times now; Ang Lee's 'Hulk' - Dropped off about 20 minutes in, woke up just in time to see a poodle get ripped in half, then off again until some big jellyfish thing. I'm told I didn't miss much.
Second time; Syriana - my own fault, I should have remembered that it's not a good idea to watch a political drama on anything that's not a telly, with quick access to kitchen, kettle and teabags.
Third time; Fantastic Four 2 - can't remember where I dropped in and out, the whole evening was a tedious blur. I wouldn't have gone except I was with some friends who all wanted to see it and one of them had a brother working at he cinema who let us all in for free. Just a pity the seats at the Odeon are so bloody uncomfortable.

I've never fallen asleep during a movie, but when my wife was pregnant a few years ago she fell asleep constantly. I remember her conking out during HHGTGG and Revenge of the Sith, among others.

Yep...I mentioned Hulk earlier. Nothing was going on for like the first half hour of that snorefest. When I woke up? Nothing was still going on? Don't these idiot directors get a feel for that kind of thing?

The strange thing? Some slow movies actually keep me awake. When I watched ANDROMEDA STRAIN, the first one, a month or so ago. A friend of mine said I would fall asleep. I was actually really into that movie.

He never has forgiven me for falling asleep when he got THE FORBIDDEN PLANET re-mastered cut some time back. I like that movie, but it is boring.

I fell asleep during I Am Legend, not because it was a bad movie, but because I was ridiculously tired and relaxed for the first time in days while watching the film.

I've never fallen asleep in a theater, but my girlfriend fell asleep in several movies this summer, including Indy IV and Ironman. She even really enjoyed Ironman, she just can't stay awake during movies.

I'm the same way during classes and work conferences (or anything resembling a lecture) -- I just can't keep my eyes open.
